A New Start for Quasar 0

Wendell Vaughn, wearing a tie, finds himself in his hometown without remembering exactly what he's doing there. He goes home and visits his mother and sister, who are excited to see him, but he's unnerved by not knowing what he's doing there or how he got there. He calls his secretary and finds his appointment book is blank for the day. A confused Wendell says he doesn't do drugs, so why does he feel like he's come off a "bad trip"? Solid Infinity War Tie-In 0

This issue is an "Infinity War" crossover, according to the cover, and ends up being at least somewhat important, since it gets all the heroes together. Infinity War is a pretty repetitive crossover, as it caused virtually every tie-in to have a "hero fights his double" story. It's probably still better than "Secret Invasion," though. I like how the issue makes Sue out to be competent, although it's a mystery how Reed acting coldly is somehow the giveaway that something's wrong. Ben's battle wit...

Bagley Art Can't Save a Mess 0

This issue reminds me of the B:TAS episode "The Trial" that came out the year before, where Batman's villains put the hero on trial. While the Batman version of this trial was built around showing that Batman’s not responsible for his villains and shows an antagonist coming to respect him, this issue is nominally about Spider-Man recognizing something good in Kaine, a mystery character who at the time was best known for popping up unexpectedly and murdering dudes.
