@cbishop: Probably wouldn't buy it, but I think it could work in today's market. If I was one of DC marketing people I'd pitch it as the DC/Vertigo equivalent to Marvel's Kickass. It could fit as a web-based series (15 minute episodes) in a gritty/dark comedy universe and if it got high enough ratings it could get moved to Adult Swim. Oh well, it's fun to dream.

@cbishop: The reborn Universe is set roughly 11 months after the starting point of the original 5th Column Universe, so roughly 2 years after TGI. To me it's a second draft of the original universe and a continuity I plan to keep much tighter (much more overlap on villains and current events). It was a name that worked with what I was trying to do with the characters I created, (Heat Seeker, Scahill, Pfeifer, Alpha, Yun) as well as line up new characters that I was planning to introduce (Last Resort, Thrax, Tess, the Prophet, etc). It thought of using 6th Column first but that doesn't have the same meaning as 5th Column (fifth Column speaks of a specific set of people in society and 6th would mean the focus is shifting but that wouldn't be true). As for Ultimate, that sounds like a rip off. It could have be reimagined but that doesn't really sound as cool.

@batkevin74: Any really difference between him and Tommy the hitman (the character our fellow writer got his name from)?

Not by design, but it could work. It just sounded like one of the most ridiculous names I could think of at the moment so I went with it.

Good read! I just a bunch of random thoughts in my head.

Random thought #1: Looked up Wild Dogs wiki page, and he makes me think of what the sportsmaster would be like if he used guns.

Random thought #2: Let's be honest, unless your nickname is Zoom, the Flash is the most unfair superhero for an aspiring villain to fight.

Random thought #3: I just saw the sassy black nurse as a guest character on a tv show I watch.

Not bad. Still not sure why he needed to charge him, but I like the ending enough not to dwell on a technicality.

@alexander_wolffe Thanks. I wanted to flush out the character by getting to the root of what he is, what he was, and what he will be. The dream sequence added some mystery to my character and luckily many of the references give me more options to build off of when I move forward.

Not sure. I wrote about a quarter of a chapter months ago but I'm way behind the mainstream 5CC and haven't really kept that well in the loop. To avoid some of the problems that come from massive continuity like 5CC I'm probably going to have every issue of 5CRU cataloged with short plot summaries, tags for characters used or referenced, announcements for temporary group events, and a timeline. I doubt I'll have the time to return to the original Heat Seeker story but in many ways this is just a continuation of where I left off.
