His snarky remarks are sorely missed by this fan. To steal a quote, "We'll all miss him. And pray for a resurrection."
There's so much more going on with her than what's on the surface, and it's that multi-faceted aspect that I think makes her so popular. Yes, she's primarily made out to be a kinky nutcase, but she frequently shows heart & genuine emotion, and she IS a rather brilliant psychiatrist. She's a great example of why not to judge a book by it's cover.
The War Games crossover took a rather bland, uninteresting character & turned him into a legit threat, and then Judd Winnick came along & made him into a must-read, satirical ego-maniac. Only for Tony Daniel to come along & ruin :-/
If she was real, I'd want her as my female BFF.
Can't have a Bat-list without including the man himself, right? Like so many others, he's my favorite of all time, period. The first comics I ever owned when I was very, very young were Bat-books & I've been a fan since.
A picture of savage splendor. With the right writer, he can easily be an A-list villain.
The Bat-family's other every-man. A more flawed & often angrier Dick Grayson. And often easier to identify with as well.
Who hasn't wanted to be an immortal, filthy rich, powerful master combatant at least once in their life?
Unfettered indulgence. He has a freedom that allows him to follow his every whim, be it mundane, grandiose, or atrocious. He knows no bounds & refuses to be tethered by limitations.
Of all the women Bruce Wayne has dated, Silver has always seemed the most realistic to me. I love the way Kevin Smith wrote her & was quite shocked to see the very last page of Widening Gyre #6. I hope that's just a flesh wound.
She's hot, she's rich, smart as a whip, and deadly dangerous. The allure is obvious.
The anchor, the one we can identify with. It's easy to envy his skills, popularity within social circles, the easy going respect, & his ability to score high with women, but despite the character's many positive qualities, he's as decidedly human as you or I - - He has moments of doubt that readers can easily relate to, sometimes even on the same scale, other times on a cosmic level, but it's within those moments where often times we can relate to him the easiest, which really helps to put you IN to the story.
The original Azrael, not that pretender Lane. Jean Paul would wipe the floor with him! He had one of the coolest costumes in comics history & has the distinction of being one of the only guys to beat down both Batman AND Bane in a fair fight.
Power, cunning, and honor. He commands respect like no other. Second only to The Bat.
