Rewatched Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works the other day.

Saber is still waifu.

That actually gave me some nostalgia of writing Dante Aventus (Gilgamesh edition). Dude was one of the most OP characters I've ever written, lol. That battle with Leonardo Liafador was something.

I've been really frustrated lately with the amount of OC threads that keep getting bumped from months or years ago. I really like to read all the IC stuff that's going on - both in CVU and CVnU - and with the front page having all these "If your character were a type of cheese, would they be more of a cheddar or more of a camembert?" threads, it seems like the RPG forum is losing sight of what it designed for.

I think it'd be great if all those threads could either get moved to the off-topic forums or condensed into a single All-Purpose OC thread that would let everyone still have fun with that sort of stuff, but keep the focus of the RPG forums on actual RPGs.

I get the concern there, but honestly, it's just a bit of fun in a way that at the end of the day does still revolve around their RPG characters. Nothing to get worked up over.

Moving it to off-topic wouldn't work because that forum has nothing to do with any RPG character whatsoever, and I can't see a single all-purpose OC thread working out in the long run.

There's still very much an ample amount of legit RPing going on; most haven't lost sight of that. It all still pertains to role-playing characters or writing in some way. The RPG forum is a lot more extensive than you might think.

Well, I think that just about wraps things up on my end. I hope that last post was good, and overall that The Avatar lived up to the hype.

Just wanted to say that it's been a pleasure all-around. This is honestly one of the best RPGs I've ever been apart of and none of it could've happened without all of y'all's patience and general awesomeness :).

For several, pregnant moments The Avatar remained still, triumphant at the victory his omnipotence would verily ensure. The end was fast approaching.

But the worst was yet to come.

Even as almighty legions descended from the heavens to rain hell upon the enemies of reality, Dark could feel the universal tides shifting against him. Suddenly, his clairvoyance over the earth had been severed with young sorcerer's beyond formidable spell, the pupil in the seeing sun receding into the fiery sphere as the symbol of the Avatar's immensity became the source of his undoing.

The threads anchoring his metaphysical nervous system - his reality - over the planet were being whittled away with a rapidity suggesting that civilization as a whole would soon be free of an existence too perfect to be embraced. Humans in all their ignorance desired free-will above all else. Above happiness, stability, simplicity. All in favor of a broken and wicked world.

The Avatar had put all of himself into shaping all this; Every iota of his existence, coupled with the unconscious acceptance of the masses, manifested the dreamlike creation they sought to unravel. The pristine and beautiful form the Shadow of the Divines' took now, reflective of celestial bodies infinitely beyond the horizon, was but a manifestation.

If this world faded, so too would he.

He'd spent the better part of months assimilating a vast arsenal of supernatural powers, redefining himself with astronomical magics, and mastering the fundamental interactions of the universe. Still trapped within his icy prison - feeling lethargy eating away at his power - he wondered if it might be better to try and sustain this body and escape erasure. Perhaps, should he will himself free, he would flee into the folds of space, hiding out beneath the multiverse. Anything was better than oblivion.

His silver form flickered, briefly becoming a dull, matte grey. No longer were his eyes alight with stars, filled only with an ominous blackness not along the void of space. His brain was swimming the loss of clairvoyance and synchronicity with all things. At this point, he was willing himself to exist, to stand apart from the fading reality of his design.

Then he heard the voice of the Supra-Man, the final statement of another entity doomed to oblivion. The Avatar of Himself was forced to lock eyes with the Idea What Walks, mind brimming with hatred that drowned out his focus. There was nothing to be said, no final exchange that Darkevius desired to contribute to besides the ghastly rage, the dashed ambitions, and the fallacious idealism radiating from his frozen form.

And then, as Nemo's vast intonation resounded in a crescendo that banished the very informational fabric of the Avatar's existence, an otherworldly cry echoed across the Battle of Eden - a bloodcurdling reverberation of fury and sorrow issued from the man who, for just a moment, had everything.

And then, he was gone. The God of the World-nation, false Savior of Reality, the King of New Gods...

Darkevius Halliwell was lost to oblivion, forever.

They survived.

Even a red-hot sphere of conceptual death hadn't erased the insurgents from the face of reality.

The Avatar hovered above the perfect crater left behind by the death sphere, chrome arms at ease. The starry brilliance of Dark's eyes flickered red. He displayed his ire in colorful volts tearing through the pavement, fissures continuing to split beyond the cavity in the ground.

The deterioration of the Utopian world grew more striking by the minute. More and more revolutionaries were entering the fray, armed with power renewed and chaotic idealism. The cognitive threads anchoring his reality over this world were being severed by those who upheld freedom and chaos over peace and happiness perfected.

He'd given them everything and they sought to burn it all to the ground in the name of the broken world of the past.

The eyed sun grew ever hotter. Red filled the cloudless skies.

Dark clouds began to brew over the blue and gold sorcerer, coinciding with the appearance of a billowing mass of ash over the museum. A mystic bolt of lightning struck the silver exterior of the Avatar's form; dimly radiant cracks appeared along Dark's gleaming torso, like fissures creeping through glass.

"You would disrupt the harmony a global populace - UNMAKE the world I perfected for you all - for something so trivial as your memories? As your past? As autonomy?" The Avatar spoke, increasingly grating voice reverberating throughout every corner of the city, his words attempting to burrow into the minds of all whom stood in the presence of the savior.

Someone else has emerged near to Darkevius. Someone whom pleaded with the young sorcerer to cease his attempts at destroying this world. At last, a hero.

"Do not be led astray, Maxwell. Your past, your memories, were bitter constructs that you'd been saved from. Do not force me to expunge you from this world, boy."

It was then that he detected Supra-Man rocketing towards him once more, fist drawn back in what would surely be another fruitless--

--Nemo circled around him in an instant. It had been a ploy! Before Dark could so much bring himself to retaliate...he couldn't. It seemed an intense current was roaring through Nemo's lips, a cold beyond cold that locked this corporeal mirage of The Avatar in place. He was more than a celestial being sealed in ice; the very concept of motion was lost on Dark's form.

Amid it all, a single, measured word spoke softly into the mind of every superpowered man and woman whom still professed loyalty to the Godking of the World-nation of Eden, to every hero looming throughout the heavenly atmosphere or situated throughout and beyond New York City. A word that would herald the Avatar's legion, drawing them to the site of the battle so that their Supreme Ruler needn't face the insurgents alone.

"Besiege."

At once, the horde would begin to blanket the skies; a colorful sea of parahumans, the exemplars of the World-nation. Once ordinary, the Avatar had altered their very existences with the divus crystals, altered their fates in favor of a unified destiny.

While Darkevius remained in absolute entropy, the Protectors descended upon them all, braced to engage the enemies of reality.
