With the new movie out, Kylo has feats like destroying houses well before TFA/TLJ and rivalling Rey who can apparently lift tons and tons of stones. Which, on top of what he did in TFA and it's tie-in source materials, is enough for me to suggest he wins this.
This. Absolutely ridiculous to consider Kanan or Ezra a match for Kylo.
isn't it implied very strongly in the books somewhere that grindelwald was the strongest evil wizard in history, until a generation later voldemort came and scooped that from him?
although voldemort definitely didn't appear that strong eh? they should have had him fuck up a squadron of auror's somewhere or something
Yes, Voldemort is seen as the most powerful Dark Wizard ever. That said it doesn't really mean he's superior to Grindelwald in a duel, it just means his mastery of dark magic is beyond Grindelwald.
I don't really see what either Return and Hope Malgus can bring to the table to defeat Kylo. Defeating a completely featless Satele Shan? Defeating Kao Cen Darach after he was completely tired out from fighting both Malgus and Vindican? Surviving being thrown into a rock? Honestly I don't see him doing any kind of damage to Kylo in the Force given his immense defensive feats and reflexes and it's even more likely that when the former lashes out Malgus isn't going to be able to do much against it. You can make a case for Malgus in terms of lightsaber dueling based purely on his lack of credible opponents, then again the same could almost be said about Malgus's victories. I'd give Kylo more chance of winning this considering his immense power in the Force, comparable durability and his lifelong training under Luke Skywalker.
