I think this is more about the suit. Remember the suit is made off Tony Stark's technology and bleeding edge can u know... tank meteor falling at very high speed from the Titan's moon. Ok Moon wasn't size of our moon and was extremely close but still like mach 300 or 400 etc. Or very same suit can take blast from power gem ( sure gem's touch is much higher than beam but very same beam oneshoted formation of Nova corps in Xandar ( which tried to cover Dark Aster )

Much better villain in book was Bellatrix Lestrange or Draco Malfoy ( and his sidekicks Crab & Goyle ) or Fenrir Greyback

What makes sense when even Cyborg apocalyptian lvl tech is nothing J'onn ( one of parts of J'onn J'onzz ) and even Diana's sword tried to obliterate/matter manipulate him into uncountable lvl of pieces but MMH reformed himself automindraping Wonder Woman.
