Ranking the Resident Evil movies

I am not going to lie. I actually really like the movies. This is probably because I suck at playing the games and I really love zombie apocalypse flicks. Here is my ranking of the Resident Evil movies from lowest to highest.

List items

  • Yes, Resident Evil 3 is number one. I'm not going to lie, but the first time I saw Alice gain super powers and then having clones was kind of silly but it grew on me. Apart from that, this movie had excellent action scenes with the apocalyptic feel. We see Claire meeting Alice. The crow scene was excellent and thrilling, while Alice is still being badass as ever. This movie is without a doubt the best in the franchise.

  • Sure, the name doesn't exactly fit but this film really grew onto me. Being a major fan of the movies, this one is one of the best in the franchise. It shows us the true nature of the Umbrella Corporation, while introducing Jill Valentine and few other likable characters like L.J. . While it didn't give us the world wide apocalypse film like Resident Evil 3 - Extinction did, it still gave us a city being overrun by zombies and the whole Nuclear strike plotline on a city.

  • The film that started it all. It introduces Alice and how the end of the world started. This film isn't exactly the best in my opinion. It comes off as kind of silly and cheesy. I liked it, it's just not my favourite. Like I said, the only good things I can say about this movie is that it is the pilot to the series and it introduces one of my favourite heroines of all time.

  • Leon was at his best. Having his charming personality while still being a major badass. Also, many likable characters are in this. However, it lacks of story and was more focused on the action scenes than anything else.

  • The only things I will say that are good about this is the backstory of my favourite badass heroine, Alice, along with the final battle against the undead and the Umbrella Corporation. I'm also glad that they removed the mother-daughter part. Also, Alice finally gets breasts. Sadly, no nude scene.

  • I liked this movie. Kinda. The only scene that was good was the airport scene. The rest is forgettable.

  • This movie just feels so small. There is no plot whatsoever. Sure, Chris is in this but just because you are throwing fan service in here, doesn't mean it's a good movie. I really wanted to like this movie. I really did. It was just impossible. The story is just about Alice trapped on a rooftop with other survivors, while the previous movie focused on the entire world being in ruins. Sorry but this film is terrible too. Anything good to say about this movie? I liked Luther West, Alice was still being a badass and the Alice clones scene was pretty badass.

  • More like just Alice escaping from the facility. Also the whole mother-daughter thing seemed out of character for Alice. I only liked Ada Wong and Leon. But they still weren't enough to save this movie and they felt more like fan service than anything else. There was just no plot. This movie is by far the weakest in the franchise.
