The energy attack caught the cosmic assassin momentarily off-guard. While her armor and inherent toughness absorbed most of the damage, the force was still enough to knock her prone, a position that would leave her at a notable disadvantage against the encroaching Ninjan soldiery.
Because violence was itself the highest form of beauty, of course.
As she hit the ground, she sent a telekinetic blast billowing outwards from her in all directions. Doing such would greatly diffuse the force and prevent her from bringing her full power to bear, but with luck it would give the first ranks of the guards surrounding her a nasty surprise, and hopefully some room to maneuver.
