Black Hand was originally a minor Green Lantern villian for Hal Jordan,but has evolved since his Silver Age apperance.Originally he didnt have any powers,but possesed a cosmic rod which drained GLs power and allowed him to use it as his own.He was later transformed into the undead Entity of Death by the rogue guardian Scar.
