The Heroes Are Insync 0

The LikeThis series has been a non-stop semi truck full of dynamite. From the beginning page to, the now #8 issue, has been pure enjoyment. The only reason I picked up this title, was because Moon Knight was in the first few issues. Here I am several titles later and minus a Moon Knight. Am I upset that he is not running current? No? Why? Because there is so much dynamic going on with characters like Misty Knight and the self-deprecating Paladin. Their precarious relationship keeps me smiling, w...

All Life Matters 0

The  Rundown Abin Sur is still alive and is the GL that polices sector 2814. The Guardians have given Abin the mission to retrieve the white entity, which is buried beneath the planet earth. Given the fact that earth is on the brink of destruction, this mission is top priority to the guardians, to save the white entity. What is the white enity? Why are the Guardians still Napoleon-like D**%@? Why is Sinestro now going by Thaal?  The Like I do not know too much about Abin Sur other that what is t...

It's All Magic 0

The Rundown The world of Flashpoint has changed everything and now some of the characters are picking up the pieces. Traci 13 is dealing with the aftermath of a devastating disaster, that has changed her life forever. The world is in an upheaval and a group of leaders (HIVE Council) have decided that drastic actions must be taken.  How does this involve Traci? Read, you must. The Like If you are not familiar with the protagonist Traci, do not fret. In fact, I did not who this character was upon ...

Dave Stevens would be proud 1

I was scared I wasn't going to be able to read this, because the world was suppose to end on Saturday (today. yikes!).....so I read it on Friday just to play it safe. If you have been anticipating the Rocketeer, as much as I have, then you were smiling, wide as the grand canyon, after you had it in your hands. The paper is nice and thick. Glossy as well. Alex Ross does a fine job with the cover and really enhances the leather jacket. This issue has various writers and artist who contribute a stor...

Punk Rock Girl 1

I didn't realize when I picked this up, that David Hine and Moriat were off the case. I am not going to lie. I panicked a little. But after the read, I can say, I will be picking up the next issue. The story seemed like a one-story kind of a deal (classic Eisner Style) and it was interesting enough to keep me flipping through the pages. The female character's name is Alabaster Cream and The Spirit helps her out of a rut. Ms. Cream is being chased by some French art thieves, who have stolen her bo...

Born To Be A Star.... 1

Ignore my corny title and understand that "Starborn" is a fun filled adventure waiting for your imagination. The first issue really drew me in, with the mysterious world of our protagonist,  Benjamin. Ben was, ostensibly,  an ordinary smuck like myself, who wrote on the side, while working a 9-5 job. We are now on issue 6 and we are learning how Ben's fictional world, he has written in his books, are the same memories of a world he no longer remembers. Make sense? It doesn't for him either, but ...

You're Not A Fan? 2

This particular review is not directly linked to a single issue review, but more of a statement of why you should be reading this series, if you are not. I know a lot of people who disregard The Punisher as a character who has depth, but I would say that people are missing the point. I find Frank Castle to be one of the most richest characters, someone that one could identify with, given his past circumstances. The comic book world offers a different path that we can take, that deters us from th...

Too Much Like Ennis? 0

Is Aaron writing The Punisher in the vein of Ennis? No. I read a few reviews about this and I must disagree, highly. Although, there is one clear and definable comparison between the two takes on The Punisher: They have delved into the mind of Frank Castle like no other. This issue has some flashbacks of the Born run and it seems that we might see Aaron dig deeper than Ennis. I wasn't a big fan of the Born run, but I feel it was a crucial point in Frank's life. I believe there is so much to expl...

Lil Dino 0

After the last issue of Scalped, where Nitz rounds up his agent boys for war on the Rez, I was expecting this issue to hit hard, but it doesn't. Not that it is a bad thing. One of the reasons that Scalped works so well, is that it does this balancing act of "in yer face" violence and sentimental, thought provoking, relationships. If you are a reader of this series, then you know that there are a plethora of characters, all rich in unique personalities and life. And in the issue we follow Dino, a...

Xombi without the Z 0

I was truly excited about this comic once I got wind of it. I am a fan of the Artist Frasier Irving from Batman and Robin and The Return of Bruce Wayne, but that was the only thing that would be familiar about this comic for me. I dove into it head first and I didn't come up for air. If you are a fan of this artist you will not be disappointed. The color scheme is great throughout and the thick dark lines with very subtle shading is very appealing to the eyes.  The story does not waste any time ...
