more ultimate characters should get there on series or join a team

Only Ultimate characters that are worth bringing over are Nick Fury and Miles Morales. The rest, including Ultimate Jessica Drew are disposable.

I think we were kinda supposed to hate the character in contrast to Peter. He was an extremely powerful yet irresponsible jerk, while Peter was Mr. Responsibility and a much more likable character, and the moral of the story was, the spider gave Peter powers, but it was Peter himself who became a hero. The Parker Particles gave Alpha powers, but they didn't make him a hero because he didnt have Peter's moral compass.

But who cares?

Doesn't excuse the fact that it wasn't a good story.

I just realized something that makes me think.

You know how well Marvel handled the whole conversion of Ms. Marvel (Carol) to Captain Marvel, and then putting a new character in the place of Ms. Marvel? Well, that's how Miles should be handled. While I did think of this before, this is a perfect comparison. The original ranks up, while the new character gets to be in the old place.

I don't want some old geezer Peter, I want him to still be relatively young (late 20s, early 30s) and have a family. He should have a very successful Parker Industries that is a direct competitor to companies such as OsCorp and Stark Industries. He should still have a role as a Superhero, but no longer street level. He does things that are worthy of him. Miles should also look up to him as an inspiration, similar to how he looks up to him in Ultimate Comics Spider-Man.

This is good because it satisfies both those who want a more relatable Spider-Man (Miles Morales, as minorities are more likely to be there in his situation), and those who want Peter to be successful and still be very important.

Everything Marvel has said so far supports this theory (as far as I remember), so I really hope this happens.

It's because guys like Conway try to understand the characters they write. Slott just wants to make established characters look like chumps so his own created characters look better by comparison. Unfortunately for him, he's a lousy writer and most of these characters end up flat and will probably be forgotten, hopefully, like Alpha.

Spider-Man will get a mention, do you think that maybe it's Spider-Man who caught Scott Lang in the first place? That could certainly make things interesting when they team up.

Probably not, especially if they are releasing the movie in half a month and they just cast Spider-Man.

@dextersinister: He is happy that his son will get to live in a world where comicbook embraces diversity. It appears to be his idea. I still honestly don't see anything wrong with it.

You have mistakenly equated diversity with race/gender swapping.

Exactly. Instead of letting the new character be his own thing, Bendis literally is replacing a character that has been around since the early 1960s.

Instead of piggybacking off of established characters, they should create a new spot for these characters.

Before you say anything, I would like to say I am not white. I have encountered a fair amount of racist white people, and I don't find Miles very appealing. Sure, he's closer to me physically, but I have developed a good attachment to Peter Parker as a character and I prefer him hundreds of times over Miles (who I actually didn't mind/kinda liked up until this was announced).

dude its a cartoon

Exactly. If you can believe that a kid who got bit by a Spider became a man-spider, you shouldn't have any problem believing that other superheroes are busy.
