Once again, I've submitted a valid story arc and got it denied by a mod who doesn't know better, and because there's no ability for them to simply ask for more details, they reject it because they don't want to google. This has happened so many times and is so frustrating. The full submission for story arcs is broken, and has been for weeks, and posts here in the forum go ignored and mods don't seem to care or fix it.

Are there any mods here who actually want to do more than reject claims because their personal knowledge isn't all encompassing? Maybe google something someone's asking for to confirm it actually is real, or reach out with a request for more info if you need it. These flat "rejected" responses are so frustrating when the request is legit and it's the mod at fault, not the user submitting it.

For any mod who might read this, though I doubt it, I'm referring to request 229726 for story arc "When Bongos Collide!" which is specifically referenced in the below three comics across different series titles.

  1. Itchy & Scratchy Comics #3 - When Bongos Collide Part 1
  2. Simpsons Comics #5 - When Bongos Collide! part 2
  3. Bartman #3 - Bartman Meets Radioactive Man: The Final Collision

Easily found on this website alone without looking elsewhere, but it can be found on other sites too. Moderating is more than "no" sometimes.

@renchamp Hate to ping you on a topic you haven't already replied on, but you helped me recently on another thread about submitting edits, so this is related.

I'm getting denied multiple times when trying to submit a new Story Arc because I don't include comments, but the ability to do so is literally broken and I reported it almost 2 weeks ago with no response (here and via email). The only way I can submit a new Story Arc suggestion is the quick way which has no ability to add comments, but I'm getting my requests denied because I didn't add comments.

Help? Please.

@renchamp Thanks for the heads up. My frustration mainly comes from having multiple rejections that can't easily be corrected without going completely around the suggestion system. For instance, I updated two comic lines recently that both had "ongoing series" in their description even though they ended years ago. Knowing they were completed, I requested that the "ongoing series" text be removed so people don't think there are forthcoming issues - both were rejected. The first asked how I can be sure a volume collecting works isn't forthcoming, but that doesn't make sense because that could be said of literally any comic, and isn't part of the story line itself, but a publication of an existing collection of the issues already out. The second told me that removing that text doesn't help anything, so should I have really had to change it to "not an ongoing series" to make it more clear?

It's stuff like that which undermines a desire to actually try and update info, when actual corrections are denied because the one reviewing them either isn't sure, or just doesn't want to bother.

I'm relatively new to ComicVine and as such I'm still in the lower points range where my edits have to be moderated. Multiple times I get edit requests denied with comments back from the mod questioning what I submitted, but there's no way for me to actually respond to their reply with more info. This means that I get dinged for a denied edit, and then I have to submit yet another request and include the answer in that one, risking another mod seeing it and potentially yet another rejection instead of it still being associated with the first one.

Why is there no way to put an edit request in an in-between status like "pending follow-up" where a mod can ask a question instead of just flat-out denying a change that they aren't even sure should be denied to begin with?

I'm trying to create a couple DC story arcs but when I click on the option to add them I get the below. I attempted the quick-add but they got denied because I didn't include an image (I didn't think the cover of the first comic in the arc was really the best option so I felt it best to leave off for now).
