Book about life and death 0

Daytripper, for me, is a masterpiece of literature of the twin brothers about life, death, happiness, grief, sorrow, love, passion, family, anxiety, sadness, poetry, overcoming great fear and allowing joy, the constant circle of life and perpectual change, common things that happens daily and we take it for granted like the pleasure of a good cup of coffee, to walk in a pastry shop and buy nice and warm buns, go to an extraordinary beach and devote yourself to life, 'cause it´s short and you are...

Lex Luthor is always Less Trusty (Spoiler) 1

Geoff Johns can really create the atmosphere for mistery and suspense, slowly putting the pieces of the jigsaw together and showing the real story behind Crisis: redemption, hope, love and treason. The way Kal-L leans towards Lois Lane as the only thing pure that ever walked on Earth (at least on Earth 2 and now she is dying), the same mesmerizing feeling that takes control of Power Girl, is the argument that Superman uses to try convincing Batman that Earth 2 was better and it should come back ...

Multiverse is all wrong 1

W - Geoff Johns; P - Phil Jimenez (with the help of  George Perez & Jerry Ordway; I - Andy Lanning and others Kar-L, the Superman of Earth 2, saves Power Girl form the clutches of the Super Villain Society, that has Lex Luthor as leader (and yes, he has a plan for evil doing) and talks to her about the darkness and corruption of Earth 1. The story is very amusing, as Johns can pick up pieces from the Infinite Earth Crisis as well creates a narrative from different angles: the Animal Man tryi...

It´s the end of the world as we knew it... 0

w - Dan Abnnet & Andy Lanning, P - Simon Coleby After the dramatic conclusion of Number of The Beast enters the new chapter of Wildstorm's heroes: World's end. The cities has crashed and now The Authority tries to mantain some order in the chaotic Unlondon: a virus is assolating the remains of civilization and groups of armed men try to take control of the city. It´s a very sad scene watching the mighty and powerful Authority reduced to scramble, shadows of the past: Jack Hawksmoor is in a w...

What a orcish thing to say 0

If you enjoy Lord of The Rings, R.R Salvarore and other medieval/fantasy stories you are going to love this miniseries by Image, where Orcs run the world. The artist (James Stokoe) really hit a homer with this work: incredible writting, amazing drawing and very pretty finish art (ink and color). A great profecy ot the Orcs is about to come true and the Leader of the clans, in order to become supreme leader, has to find the one-eyed orc...who is a master of cracking safes and doing other gigs for...

Spaced out 0

What a great series this was, a marvelous sci-fi tale, written by Warren Ellis, drawn by Chris Sprouse and inked by Karl Story. Reading this book felted like I was at the theater, really did put me in the scenario of a movie, and it´s great material for a blockbuster (with Samuel L. Jackson as main character Nathan Kane). The story revolves on a distant future, far evolved than ours, in the orbit of Europa, one of Jupiter's satellite, where a cop of the UN, specialized in weaponry, is called by ...

Rumbling DCU 1

Infinite Crisis # 1 - W Geoff Johns, P - Phill Jimenez, I - Andy  Lanning Earth is dying and when the greatest super-heroes of DCU can´t work together, all hell breaks loose. This issues has all the elements that a good story arc is supposed to: great dialogues (the members of Freedom Fighters just before getting their ass kicked; the tension between Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, due to the latest events/Diana murdering Maxwel Lord), a pretty good narrative (how Johns put together a vast se...

JLA 1

JLA #s 1 to 4 - W Grant Morrison; P Howard Porter; I John Dell I´m not a big fan fo JLA, I lke The Avengers better, but since everybody talk so dam well about this team, I´ve decided to check upon them. I´d begun with this series ('cause I´ve remembered that the issue 1 stayed on Wizard's Top List in #1 for a long time) and to be honest I was a little disapointed. In some scenes there aren´t no conection to the previous with the next, and you kinda think to yourself: "Oooo, what just hap...

Infinite Universe 0

Ok, so I´ve always liked the cosmos stories of Marvel, if I´d heard the word "infinite" or "Thanos", I´ve always knew something good was coming out of it. I´ve got a little strayed from the path - reading more mutants, avengers, hulk and green lantern - but then I realized: "Wait a minute. Got to go back to the way of the Force", so I´ve bought Guardians of The Galaxy #s 1 to 7, War of Kings #s 1 to 6 and I´m waiting to read Annihilation: Conquest and issues 8 to 12 and 13 to 17 of the Guardians...
