Inside his cabin Daniel sat back in his chair, plumes of cigarette smoke swirling around his head in lazy clouds that seemed to form into shapes as he watched. Sighing he reached forwards, grabbing the bottle of scotch on the table in front of him and pouring out a measure. Sitting back again, now with a glass of the amber liquid in his hand he starred into space, as if waiting for something.
The ship shuddered as it pulled free of the gravitational field of Hera, leaving a gaseous cloud of engine emissions in its wake. For a split second weightlessness took over, causing everything in the cabin to take to the air, but then the gravity generator kicked in and the room settled. The entire ship was falling apart and had his need not been so desperate Daniel would have left it with the old soldier out in Serenity valley. But a man in his position didn’t have room to be picky. But hopefully with the crew that he’d picked up at the spaceport he could get it up and running again.
“It’s a filthy habit.”
Daniel sat forwards and turned around to see Hillary Walsh, his second in command and old friend. She was the only member of the crew that he had worked with before.
“My cabin, my rules. Besides, what with the miracles of modern medicine I’ll live as long and fruitful a life as you.”
Hillary smiled and motioned upwards with her head.
“You picked us a good pilot.”
Daniel nodded slowly, thinking.
“He claimed to be the best in the outer planets. I’m not sure about that but he’s certainly keeping this bucket of bolts in the sky.”
Hillary smiled and turned to climb the short ladder out of the cabin.
“Everyone’s getting together in the kitchen, thought you should come and meet them.”
Daniel stood up and drained the glass of whiskey before following his friend up the ladder.
The two of them walked along the short gangway that linked all of the crew quarters and down a short flight of steps, coming out in a large room that was dominated by a wooden table, placed directly in the centre. Lounging around it were the various members of his new crew and the passengers that he had signed on for the trip to Persephone and some of them even as far as Whitefall. Hillary took up position by the door, leaning nonchalantly against the heavy iron frame, Daniel took a few steps forwards and folded his arms. He was an impressive figure, tall and handsome with a muscled if not bulky frame. Clearing his throat he began.
“My name is Daniel Gunn, to my friends it’s just Danny. To all of you, its Captain or Captain Gunn, at least until we know each other a little better.”
He grinned roguishly.
“Im not a fan of the AA meeting formula for introducing yourselves. So let’s just be hearing your names. After that your free to go about your duties until we reach Persephone, which should be in about two days. Im sure by then we’ll all be one big happy family.”
This is a Firefly themed RPG. It takes place on the space ship Serenity and the various locals which we will be visiting. Id like it if you checked in the OOC and other than that just remember to have a good time. If your new to the site or RPGing as a whole check out the rules here

No powers
Technology is a mix of old and new. Safes might have fingerprint coded locks but they’re still made of inch think steel. If you think something’s a high tech just check in the OOC
Talk to other characters and interact. Were living on a fairly small island in the middle of a great big hunk of nothing so try and make friends.
Your character doesn’t have to be combat orientated, the series itself features quite a few of these.
