Absolutely perfect. 0

This is the type of issues I want to read. Two fantastic stories that built off of 2 terrible stories. Iron man has to fight all of his past foes while keeping his life together. Hogan is in Ireland. Pepper hates Iron Man for making Hogan leave, so Iron Man does his best to get it done. Every single fight was spectacular! I especially loved the one with Crimson Dynamo, Tony's reaction is priceless. The art fits this story perfectly as well. The Cap story is more of a direct continuation, he is...

Attuma seems useless. So does Red Skull. 8

Happy quits! Cap becomes a Nazi? Attuma does something! Red Skull monologues! That sums up these issues too well. The Iron Man story starts off fantastic.. then quickly becomes really stupid and then Attuma comes.. and I have no idea who that is. They fight, and then Iron man goes to do some damage control. This story really sets up for some interesting developments but this story sucks, a lot. Setup issues should still be good. The Cap story is boring and kind of useless. Red Skull tells Cap...

Looks like Cap's story is finally going somewhere. 0

Ever since Cap came into this title he has done diddly. Always feeling like a really long back up, this time he does have a story that actually feels like a real story. This isn't to say that it is good, but it isn't bad. It also promises to pick up on what it did in the next issue. So, I guess I shall wait to see what happens soon. Iron man is ready to give up his whole way of living so Pepper and Hogan can be together. Thats pretty admirable, but the problem with this story is not what Tony ...

Cap.. why are you even here? 0

Cap has had a really rough time of figuring out what he is going to be doing with his pages in this book. None of it connects and none of it is really interesting. It's there.. which is fine, just wish it would be decent. This time he fights a two weirdos and the fights a ton of other people. It's that simple. Kirby didn't even try here either. Terrible story. Iron man on the other hand has to deal with Hawkeye and Black widow... again. The cool thing is they don't take up to much space and we ...

Nothing new. 0

Iron Mans new story has a few interesting developments, Pepper and hogan are actually getting a relationship now. YES!!!! Stark is out of his Iron Man suit finally and the new villain is boring. Everything was handled well except the villain, he's your typical bad guy disgruntled at the higher up boss. Cap's origin feel funny, something about it bugs me. Can't put my finger on it but it just doesn't really come together like it should by the end. Great art.3/5. Not bad but something just doesn...

Are we sure Mandarin isn't Juggernaut? 0

So Mandarin's original origin is really, really close to Juggernauts. Even when it is changed by Matt fraction many years later they are still both pretty close but at least they aren't like exactly the same. Both of them get magical powers from an artifact they find in a cave. Yeah, that is Mandarin's origin, not bad but a bit more effort in making it stand apart would of been fantastic. Cap's story is the same as the one in #60 except this time a warden tricks him so he can steal Caps shield...

Monologuing, Mandarin is the best at it. 0

This time Cap has an actual story, odd right? I'll jump right in and explain the basic premise. A U.S. pilot was captured, Cap wants him back so the enemy general tells Cap "You get him back if you pass my test!" The test i fighting three big sumo lookin' dudes. Cap is then transported to a different location where he fights the Sumo. Sumo is not a nice dude, he has the pilot killed (They don't die, he just has them ordered to die) and fights Cap. Jack Kirby draws this fight masterfully. It loo...

If Iron Man really is stuck in his suit, how does he use the bathroom? 0

In this thrilling issue we get to see what happens if everyone thought Iron man killed Tony Stark! What happens if Baron Zemo is a dick to Captain America? The issue has great art all around, but the Cap story doesn't feel like anything but a glorified back up. The Iron man story is really well done. Which is a great thing since the Iron man stories haven't all been great. It goes like this, Iron man can not get out of his suit or his heart will fail. He must always be Iron Man, now the problem...

Am I missing something here? 0

So we start off with a really confusing Iron Man story where he fights the Black Knight. It starts off with fighting.. and never explains why just pointless and admittedly well drawn fighting. I am absolutely perplexed at what was going on, they never even paused to give me any sort of reasoning for what was going on, not even one freaking thought bubble. Not much else to say besides that you should never do that, ever. Seriously, don't do it. The Captain America story is better but not by muc...

THAT COVER IS A LIAR!! A DIRTY LIAR! 0

So, the cover promises Captain America VS Iron Man. Not going to lie, I was HYPE! Than that silly rule of comic books came into play Rule Number 6: Covers are always misleading. So what we actually get is Iron Man VS the Spider Man villain, Chameleon. Apparently Chameleon tricked Cap and disposed of him. (Not well though since Cap gets away and tells Iron Man what's what) Now, this issue is great, fantastic art, great fights, coolish ending but the struggle this issue faces is getting started....

Hawkeye makes his first appearance and finally provides a good story in this kind of terrible series. 0

Honestly, I didn't realize this was Hawkeye's first appearance until about halfway through. Not sure if that is a good thing or not to be honest. To be fair Hawkeye's origin is set up with a ton of heart. It didn't really have a strong ending even though it had enough room for a good ending.. so, not sure what happened there. Cool, right? It goes as such, Hawkeye is performing and showing off his master marksmanship. Since this is technically an Iron Man story, Iron Man flies over Hawkeye and ev...

Lamest name for the lamest villain ever. 1

If the fact that Iron Mans second best villain so far (Not counting Crimson Dynamo since he reformed in his first appearance) is someone called "UNCANNY UNICORN!" isn't funny, I do not know what is. He even looks lame. He has a weird lamp thing taped to his face. So, when this issue is actually pretty awesome, it should come as a surprise. At least I was surprised. the odd thing about this is that they could of just brought back Melter, he already had a pretty decent backstory and would have fit...

So so issue. 2

Spoilers ahead! Mandarin and Tony finish their epic battle, in a mediocre way. I just didn't care after a while something just didn't really connect to make me care if Mandarin killed Tony stark. Oddly enough I cared more about if Hogan was going to be okay in his new position at Stark Industries. I think it's because anybody could be Iron Man, nothing makes tony special. He's Iron Man because he is Iron Man not sure why he didn't give it up either I think its because hes bored. Not really the...

Does Mandarin like mandarin chicken? 0

Spoilers ahead! So when all of your missiles are going haywire you must know, whodunnit? Right? I mean simple right? Well it isn't simple when it is the almighty MANDARIN! Guess what? He steals the show, AGAIN!Not just kind of steals the show, no, this issue is all about him. His fight with Iron Man is epic him karate chopping through walls just oozes coolness. None of it seems silly to me it just seems what would happen if anybody messed with the Mandarin. He has a good presence on any page. ...

So.. Tony IS supposed to be smart, RIGHT? 1

Spoilers will be in this review. So after Anton Vanko died last issue which was partially Black Widows fault, what does Tony do? Let her chill with him? Seriously? The worst part is he tells her about his anti gravity box/toy/weapon/thing(?). Seriously dude, you know shes evil and you still let her do that? The worst part is Pepper didn't tell Tony "C'mon man, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?" No, that would be smart. She just thinks to herself "Well.. this may not be a good idea." Anyway after al...

Bad Boris, BAD! 0

Spoilers are ahead, comrade. So, the reformed Crimson Dynamo Anton Vanko is a disgrace to his homeland. So much so that they send Black Widow and Boris after him. It gets crazy, Boris who seems to have low level super strength attacks Anton and uses the Crimson Dynamo suit for his own nefarious deeds. While Black Widow distracts Tony Stark on a date. Stark industries is set on fire due to Boris being a jerk. Tony becomes Iron Man dispatches Boris and brings him to jail after that Black Widow tu...

Was I really supposed to believe any of this? 0

If spoilers are your archenemy, I would be cautious when moving forward! You'd think Stan Lee would know what to do when he has momentum. He doesn't in this book at least, last issue the Mandarin was awesome! Hogan and Pepper were awesome! Then this issue happened and Tony is having trouble with a controintist named Scarecrow. Ugh. I mean even Pepper annoyed me in this issue. It was just bad. Not sure what I am even supposed to take away from this. Scarecrow's motivations are wack. "Well, I am ...

"Look you weak apology for Genghis Khan" Damn, Mandarin may need to visit a burn center after that. 0

Spoilers ahead! This is without a doubt my favorite issue since #39, easily. Happy Hogan punches out a jerk and gets a date with Pepper! Yeah I know that doesn't really matter but it was actually handled quickly and I have been really wondering where that relationship was heading. Onto the show stealer here, THE MANDARIN! At first he talks in third person and feels like Dr. Doom but then Iron man shows up and the fight and back forth between them is sweeter than icing. The insults they sling ar...

Well, this was a flimsy excuse for a crossover. 2

Spoilers ahead! So Angel of the X-Men is flying around. Sees Iron Man. Iron Man tells him to go away then a nuke goes off. Which doesn't even seem to be far away, so why aren't they dead? I mean they gave an excuse for Iron Man that I guess I shall accept. The thing that moves this story along is that Angel doesn't die.. no, he becomes EVIL! afterwards he leaves the X-Men. They even try and stop him but they fail pretty hard. Which is odd because all Angel can do is fly. Since the X Men are appa...

YOU WASTED IT ALL, MR. DOLL! 2

Beware of the spoilers ahead. In this issue Tony debuts his Mark III suit! Finally he isn't wearing a clunky bright golden bullet looking armor! Now he has a nice red and yellow suit. Slim and this one doesn't look awful. Want to know why he really changed to the Mark III though? "So I can inspire fear into the hearts of criminals!".. Settle down, Tony. No one has even started comparing you to Batman. (Thats a joke BTW) but yeah, the new suit is a lot cooler and honestly does make a lot more se...

Just because you can doesn't mean you should. 5

Okay, I will be frank with you. This story is boring, pointless along with directionless. The art is god awful and makes me want to sleep.. the color is boring and dull as well. I mean like nothing is good about this. You want to know how you can tell a book is actually bad? When the lettering is bad. Yeah, even the lettering is boring as well and just there. This is a good page. Let it sink in that this is a good page.I can't really explain how awful this art is without showing you some so.....

ALUMINUM MAN DOESN'T MESS AROUND! 0

Spoilers may or may not be ahead. So if you screwed over a guy who then finds out a really nifty way to combat you what do you do? Well if you're Iron Man and you screwed over a dude who finds out how to melt Iron like butter in a microwave the answer is simple. You change your suit to aluminum. So yeah from that point on Melter was screwed, royally. Also what type of name is Melter? Really givin' the brain some exercise coming up with that, eh? With that said.. I really loved this issue. Th...

I get it already, communism is bad. 0

Spoilers be bountiful ahead, matey. So we finally get a semi-interesting villain here and guess what happens? He's turned into a worker for Stark by the end of the issue. Yeah, it's kind of lame to me. I mean the government really doesn't trust Stark in this issue. It'd be cool if that is built on in anyway really. Besides getting introduced to Crimson Dynamo "TOP DAWG OF ELEKTRISITY!" and the governments opinion of Stark seeming to be something of a flip of a coin away of just saying "Ya know,...

"Even if you were my type, YOU wouldn't be my type!" 0

Spoilers ahead. So... everyone in the previous issues don't have ANY impact on modern day Iron Man but finally we get to meet some cool people of which I know will stick around. So both Hogan and Pepper are introduced in this issue. We also meet another new villain who is totally forgettable.. again. To be fair both Hogan and Pepper are delightful, Tony is still a moron who mentions Iron Man WAY too much, and Jack Frost is lame. Hopefully it picks up and some good villains are finally introduce...

Iron Man is a dick. 0

Spoilers ahead.. BEWARE! The basic run down is this.. So Tony decides he wants to check out a pyramid in Egypt. Cool so far. So what does he do first? Talk to guy about getting into it. He says "We can't really.." Tony responds with "IRON MAN COULD!" Yes, Tony Stark is a real genius isn't he.. Little while later he has to plug himself into the wall. Yeah, okay.. a little silly now, but whatever. Afterwards as Iron Man he gets into the pyramid and sees the mummy he was looking for. Next he runs...

Heh, that was clever. 0

Spoilers ahead! What do you do when you have a chance to redo your origin story? YOU GO FOR IT! So, Tony and a few workers are sucked underground and see "Atlantis". So this chick named Kala tells Tony "Help me take over earth!" he tells her yeah only to build an Iron Man suit just like he did in issue 39. Except this time around no Yinsen and when he breaks out he does a ton of impressive stuff. My favorite part is when he tricks her with a simple mirror trick. Not sure that is actually how m...

I just couldn't get into this one. 0

Spoilers ahead.I'm sorry but this issue just didn't grab me. Some stuff happened that I didn't care about nor did it seem important. Some dude named the Actor is working for the Barbarian and messes up. Nothing else really happens, at all. I mean they could of done a lot more with this and absolutely nothing really happens. 1/5. Also.. what is with Transistors? I get it already he uses transistors stop telling me already. ...

DR. STRANGE VS IRON MAN!..No, not that Dr. Strange. 0

Spoilers ahead. This time Iron Man actually faces a real "Super villain" and he is kind of awesome. Which doesn't mean his plan makes that much sense but I guess it is the thought that counts. What happens is this, Dr Strange needs to get out of jail to meet up with his daughter. Why? Just because he wants to see her. Then he takes a turn for the worse and decides to try and take over the worlds because EVIL! Iron Man is actually kind of in the shadow here. Which is odd because he did some cool ...

What is this? 0

Warning: SPOILERS. So.. umm.. what? Two things of note happen here Iron Man becomes gold because he is scaring all of the people he is trying to save and he saves a town from a robot.. from some aliens. Yeah it's silly. Not in a good way either I mean I get that it is supposed old now so I can't be too harsh. Yet the last issue was much better and not nearly as silly. Anyway, Tony has a date at the circus and the tigers get loose. His first instinct is that he needs to save everyone as Iron Man...

This aged well.. kinda. 0

Spoilers are a possibility. So, I put it upon myself to learn more about Iron Man. I decided to review every issue of Iron Man's solo adventures I started with Stark: Disassembled and now I go to the beginning and work my way up. So here is what happened Stark is amazing with transistors so amazing that he can use them to do anything. Like as a Magnet! Seriously what is Stan Lee's obsession with magnetism? Anyway he gets captured and then is forced to work for Wong - Chu, knowing he is about ...

Awesome ending. 0

Minor Spoilers The basic rundown with this issue: Tony Stark is not a good guy. I mean he is a Superhero but he has done a LOT of bad things and a lot of people have died because of what he has done. So when he comes to face with this fact it's really cool to see and it's handled really well. The best part is it doesn't really dwell on this for too long or make it really depressing. It moves on to the part with the assassin that was about to kill all of them. The way he gets defeated is awesome...

Stooooopid cliffhanger. 0

Minor Spoilers. The basic rundown of this issue: Tony is still in his mind scared of leaving and moving on. It's actually very interesting stuff and the whole "The mind believes and does what it wants" stuff has always intrigued me. Which is cool because it is used really well here. Besides Tony moving on we also get a hilarious conversation between Pepper and Maria Hill. Included in all of this the assassin stops playing around and finally makes his move.. and then cliffhanger. The art was t...

That was quick. 0

Minor SpoilersBasic rundown of this issue: Last issue they tried to bring back Tony because he is now a vegetable, but not like a carrot. This issue it slows things down a bit so that you can see Tony, scared. He's alone in his head/mind for a bit until he gets a visitor. Speaking of visitors the assassin comes in and is found out, quickly. So everything gets a bit more urgent in the best way possible for the reader. The characters? Not so much. This is the page I am talking about, awesome righ...

Picking up momentum. 0

Minor Spoilers The basic rundown of this issue: It picked up the threads of the last issue brilliantly. Captain America (Steve) comes in now (I didn't actually realize that it was Bucky in the last issue that was the Cap.) along with Rhodey to bring back Tony from being a vegetable. Some really cool stuff happens with the villain that was tasked with making sure Tony stays down for good. The sand stuff is still a little odd but it makes a lot more sense this time now that it's revealed what he w...

Pretty neat stuff. 4

So, to start I must admit.. I haven't read like any Iron Man. I'm on a mission to review all of his solo adventures and this is where I decided to start. After this I will be going back to the beginning. So the basic run down is this: Stark is brain dead now and Cap and Thor want him back. Norman Osborn on the other hand is pretty pleased that Stark is out of commission because he is running something called H.A.M.M.E.R. Something about digging up teeth, Stark industries being bad and an oran...
