Hey guys! Cryo here. It`s been a while after Sina Grace`s decent SJW Iceman`s run but speculations ain`t still stopping. Robert got several beast and discussed feats. Except from stomping most of high tier characters , he did mind blowing stuff too. One of the most astonishing thing was ''freezing speed of light'' , which he eventually used against Juggernaut and sent him flying. Even Thor`s godblast couldn`t do same! Even though we know Iceman`s potentially vast and unique powers capability , some people are still consider this an outlier scan. So today I`m gonna scientifically prove genuineness and outlierlessness of this feat. Scans and context :

Juggernaut charges and goes directly to Iceman. Bobby prepares ice blast and covers his hand with it. Then sends Juggernaut flying and says ''If I can`t stop the damned Juggernaut , may as well freeze the speed of light around him. I think it`s obvious that Iceman converted ice ball to some specific big blast which literally covered and illumined surrounding area. So we can basically admit this as an moisture/ice based attack.

Iceman is capable of manipulating thermal and cryothermic energy. He thermokinetically condensed hot air flames to rain (Marvel Team Up #23) and doused Human Torch`s plasma form (1000 Celsius). Not to mention his ability to control gradients of heat (X-Men Manifest Destiny #4) and chemical reactions which involves heat exchange. He used this ability against pyrokinetic mutant Sunfire who can manipulate plasma (X-Men Volume 2 #202). Iceman froze Legion`s every single water molecule (X-Men Volume 2 #41) and can generate AZ temperatures at good day. So this basically means that Bobby is able to manipulate thermal energy at atomic and molecular level. This feats were used to give you conception about his powers.

Light is made of small particles named ''photons''. Usually photons do not have temperature but they can transmit energy to another objects, also they have ability to carry energy of heat through radiation. As google says thermal radiation is quantized electromagnetic radiation excited by thermal agitation of molecules or atoms and having a range including infrared, visible light, and ultraviolet.

I`m not gonna tire you guys with mind blowing physics , so thermal radiation is heat which is naturally thermal energy. Thermal energy is emission of electromagnetic waves , that can be described as photons. As I said light is made of photons , so if you can control kinetic movement of atoms , you can theoretically tag speed of light as well. Speed of light is primarily speed of photons. Honestly it`s nothing new to physics.

Now let`s see how it affects Iceman`s speed. Iceman was shown to be able to tag people/objects with massively advantage over speed. For example in his early years with X-Men he was able to freeze Quicksilver , encase missiles and torpedos with ice grenades. In spite of the fact that he showed hypersonic+ reactions , still it isn`t enough to strengthen argument of Iceman has FTL reactions and speed.

Highest feat which Iceman showed was swarming Thor. Don`t get me wrong. I know Thor Slowdinson stuff and his slow movement but when it comes to travel speed Thor is indubitably FTL+ character. He was able to travel from Earth to another solar systems/galaxies in seconds. In (Astonishing X-Men #64) Thor was fearing and outrunning Robert. So at the end I just wanted to solidify statement of Bobby being able to keep up with higher speeds and he hasn`t scarcity of speed feats.

Conclusion

• Iceman freezing speed of light isn`t plot induced plot induced stupidity or outlier feat. It can be achieved with high control over thermal energy.
• This ability is way more stronger than Thor`s godblast. It literally negated Juggernaut`s force field.
• Sina Grace is frigging genius and educated in physics unlike most of comic readers.
• Robert has faster than light reactions or it`s just his ice so unique that it can tag things with speed of light.
