Thy Will Be Done 0

Note: NAH - Nineties Anti Hero , GAH - Golden Age Hero  In essence, this marvellous book is a tribute to the Golden Age and the NAH while deconstructing both tropes, ergo in essence a deconstruction of the superhero figure per se.  In essence, it shows how both extremes are ineffectual with real human society. The writing and artwork are nothing short of fantastic.  Waid manages to completely evolve classic characters to their next logical step while thanks to Alex Ross' art tribute their origin...

Chaotic War? 0

To be honest, reading this series was such a joy from the very beginning. This is probably thanks to Pham and Gho's artwork which makes the entire series such a visual feast, even though the dialogue is rather weak. My favorite panel in all the series must be Ares leading the army of the dead with Zeus right behind him in the second issue of the series. In my opinion, however, Greg Pak is a more character-oriented writer than plot or dialogue-oriented per se, as the speech patterns and fight ban...

Cap Britain must be done justice! 0

To be hundred percent honest, I believe Captain Britain to be one of the least well-written characters with the most potential. Allow me to review all the series, which I have just finished reading. I liked it a lot but in some aspects it was a disappointment. I liked the characterization of Pete Wisdom, Spitfire, Blade, Black Knight, Meggan and Faiza, I REALLY loved the artwork, and I liked the numerous references to the MAX Wisdom series (I wish Tink and Oberon had a more recurring role though...

Daredevil Dared Evil... 1

Let me get this straight: I know there are many haters of this movie and I also get WHY they hate it and agree with them on many things. Personally, I liked this movie. It is not my favorite, sure, but it is one I really like.  It is my opinion that most, if not all, superhero movies argue what is the ideal way to mete out justice; if just "catch and put in jail", "punish then put in jail" or "eliminate". Daredevil in particular argues this - it reminds me a lot of what Doc Samson says i...

X marks it WRONG 2

Ok lemme get this straight: I LOVE THE X-MEN, I love Wolverine, Angel, Nightcrawler et la bella compania.... now...the hardest part; This movie made me cry. I don't mean emotionally, no ; its the neglect to logic and outrageous focus on all things wolverine. sure it had great moments, but most of em led to utter pointlessness; after the masterpieces of X1 & 2 they give us this bowl of crapola on these levels: 1. neglect of logic A: ok, magneto, the grand strategist, has to kill the mutant fr...

A Good Punishment 2

One of my personal favorite movies coming out of a comic franchise, neither War Zone depicted the Punisher as perfectly as in this movie. It depicts his origins quite differently from the comic, but in a way that made rather more sense and that made the impetus of castle's family's massacre larger. The only thing about Punisher that wasn't depicted accurately was his savagery - sure, it was alluded to, and his resourcefulness and thirst for punishment could be felt, but his well-known savagery a...

Mediocre at best 3

Ok first up Ghost Rider is one of my favorite characters EVER. Now differently than other ppl I liked this movie. It wasn't my favorite Marvel movie so far, but it isn't my least favorite. Perhaps it s just me.This is the lowdown:  WHAT I LIKED: - Sam Elliot and Petr Fonda - these guys just NAILED the interpretation of Caretaker and Mephisto. They both carried th opportune gravitas to their characters. With Mephisto, you know u shouldn't trust the guy cos of the way he talks but the way he play...

Great but kinda rushed 0

The moment I saw the ads in many other marvel comics like movie posters i thought: this is all a gimmick, much like the  fall of the hulks thing (i m not a fan of JRJR's recent works btw). however this time it made more sense; coipel's art and bendis' writing carry many filmic connotations to them. there's a great setting up and you can almost feel and see the action happening - the use of montage and other filmic techniques render something in and of itself fantastic into something almos...
