@black_wreath: You see very clearly that the Cobra's instigated the violence on every occassion (Johnny pushing Daniel, him being very clearly hooked during said soccer game).
Eh, it is guilty pleasure. Lots of people remember it fondly for the recognisable story and characters, the one liners, etc.
And it is by far one of the most 80's movies there is. From the way the characters speak to the themes and soundtrack.
Personally I found Danny unlikeable. Most of the times he gets his ass whooped, he's kinda asking for it...
Also, if I remember correctly, it's mentioned kicks are illegal in the tournament and then he wins with a kick? Cheating prick.
I disagree, he stands up for a girl he likes because her boyfriend is being a total dickwad and after they have it out for him. At no point did he do anything that made him deserve what they did to him.
And yeah, that is totally true. But you gotta love that crane technique ;)
It's kinda like the Rocky movies. It's silly, but endearing, so you give it a pass.
