HACK/SLASH Is Now Being Developed As A TV Series

We've been hearing about a Hack/Slash movie for years now, but the latest update from THR claims the cult horror comic will now make its way to the small screen. No cast or director yet, but the show will be exec produced by Adrian Askarieh and Ray Ricord for Relativity Media's new television division, with Skip Woods (Swordfish, Hitman) on board as writer.

The plan is apparently to adapt the comic as a "gritty show in The Walking Dead mold."

"Hack/Slash centers on Cassie Hack, a woman who symbolizes the cliche of the lone girl who survives at the end of every horror movie. However, the emotionally damaged girl not only survived but has become a killer of killers. Along with a burly protector named Vlad, Hack travels across the country hunting slashers in the vein of Halloween's Michael Myers, Friday the 13th's Jason Voorhees and A Nightmare on Elm Street's Freddy Krueger."

What do you guys make of this? Glad we're getting a Hack/Slash TV series, or would you have preferred a movie?

Apparently Marvel Wants CREED Director Ryan Coogler To Helm BLACK PANTHER

Ryan Coogler garnered great acclaim for Fruitvale Station, and by all accounts his Rocky spin-off, Creed, is something special too - so it was probably only a matter of time before one of the big superhero studios came a-callin'. According to Heroic Hollywood, that studio was Marvel, who wants Coogler to direct Chadwick Boseman in his solo Black Panther movie.

There's no indication that Coogler is interested, however, and the site cautions that they're not sure if an offer has even been made yet, but we'll keep you updated. Marvel seems to have had some trouble locking a director down for this, so there could well be interest in other parties too.

The studio recently shifted the release date of Black Panther February 16th, 2018.

Marvel Reportedly Scraps INHUMANS Due To Divide Between Movie And TV Divisions

Kevin Feige has wanted to make Inhumans for some time now, but could that have changed following the divide between him and Marvel Entertainment CEO Ike Perlmutter? If a new report from Bleeding Cool is to be believed, then yes! They claim to have heard rumblings that Inhumans has been scrapped, and while it still publicly has a release date, it's already been dropped from Marvel Studios' slate. A reason for this happening isn't given, but it sounds like it could have something to do with Disney now overseeing the Marvel movies (at Feige's request) and Perlmutter remaining in charge of TV. Even so, scrapping Inhumans seems like a really extreme move!

It's previously been claimed that the Marvel Studios President hasn't been a fan of the TV shows encroaching on the movie's turf, and it could be that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pushing ahead with the concept of the Inhumans has soured him somewhat towards the characters. After all, Earth being full of new Inhumans would have to be addressed in their movie at some point! This doesn't make a whole lot of sense right now - especially as Marvel TV has apparently been pushing for it to get made - but this was the site who first reported on those behind the scenes issues with Fantastic Four, so don't dismiss this just yet. What do you guys think? Let us know your thoughts below.
