Why can Marvel just title it Invincible IronHeart instead of IronMan?
I was just on Bendis's tumblr he was answering a question from a fan assuming Tony is done as Iron Man or dead or just gone and basically what he said was that Tony's fate isn't revealed yet and that's intentional. So basically I'm assuming it's still called Invincible Iron Man because Tony isn't giving up the mantle and they're just sharing the book like they have been since Riri's introduction. Again this is just my assumption
Those are some great cosplays, and it is cool to see people who are clearly so devoted to the characters get recognition in this way. The Miles, Scarlet Witch, and Squirrel Girl are particularly nice. Still, I have no interest in buying any of these covers, and I have a hard time seeing other people being into them either. I guess they weren't a huge failure the first time Marvel did it though, since they are doing it again.
The way I see it I feel like these are really cheap to produce frankly. Have a photographer take pictures at the Con which they already do anyways and get permission from the cosplayers to use their image and pay them a reasonable amount of compensation. No discussion between writers and artists involved no paying an artist and colorist and editor in general so essentially waaay less man hours that needs to get compensated. Just slap a title and other cover fixtures on an already produced photo and you're good. Don't think they really need to be a huge hit with audiences for these to be worth it to do.
