Going with Katara just from the sheer speed. Unless Abby can instantly KO her with a TK blast then the buildup is too slow for Katara to just be standing there.

Another thing if Katara can hang out for a minute and notice that the voice/throat is the source of the power then she can easily render that obsolete. Something as simple as freezing the moister in her throat should work.

Or it could be Marvel using Storm as the token black character. Storm is poplar but no where near that of the people she's around. Do I think that's fair? Absolutely not because imo out of all the "colored" characters Storm is the most interesting imo.

Basically don't get your hopes up. Try and learn the difference between Marvel actually rooting for Storm or them just using her as a well known Token.

As a side note upon closer looking at the image it may be Avengers related which could be good for Storm. A team that takes on more powerful threats could mean Storm can do more wild feats!

Since when did being a democrat automatically mean you were a saint on Earth? Evil does not care who you are or what your political stance is. And along with being the president of the USA he's actually a human being capable of feeling empathy for what has happened so I'm pretty sure he wont have to weasel out of anything...

OT: My condolences go out to the friends and family of those killed or injured in this horrific act. I wish I could say I'm flabbergasted but that'd be a lie. Violence even on this scale is something I've come to almost expect.

It's all good. Opinions are opinions. And I wont deny the usefullness of Storm's power in a RL situation at all. Not to mention when someone pisses you off a gathering storm in the sky looks far more threatning than you giving them the evil eye lol.

And while I totally agree that Storm could do those things again that falls in with my statement that I could change the world for good. With emma's power I could accomplish all the things you said and more. There would be no nuclear war b/c I would of made world peace (and 1st order of business is dismantling ALL nukes) and with droughts and global warming all the trillions of dollars that go into war, a portion of that would be spent on environmental issues. And with big money corporations a thing of the past I feel that I could actually accomplish something. While Storm could get it done faster I can keep it going on a more permanent basis.

This is the real world where people aren't really accustomed to seeing people fly around and have godlike powers. You wake up one day and discover you have Storm's power and suddenly the entire world is divided into three factions. Those who see you as a threat/abomination. Those who see you as a God made flesh. And those (few) who see you for what you are. We've all seen the movies and read the books and we know that anything the government can't control they destroy. You disperse a cat.5 hurricane that was about to impact the east coast saving countless lives however you've also shown them that what many consider the ultimate "act of god" is nothing but a mere nuisance to you. How do you think most people will react? They'll fear you and that will turn to hate with probably ever world government wanting you dead (and hell lets throw in a scientists who wants to study you). AND on the off chance that the world DOES accept you as a hero... every time there's any sort of bad weather you'll be blamed. If we have all of Storm's power(i.e. the innate understand of the intricacies of each weather system) then we know that not every single storm can be dispersed and that sometimes the weather HAS to play out the way nature intended it. But try explaining that to the court of public opinion.

Reason why I chose Emma is simple. Her power(even w/o cebera) are global meaning that she could LITERALLY give us world peace in a year or two. Less if I just rough shot over everyone's will. Having two people shake hands and sign some documents...having others jump off a bridge or run headfirst into oncoming traffic whatever it takes. It's all well within her power. Now granted I couldn't bring rain to droughted fields or stave off storms that could kill thousands. But think about all the money that goes into war and all the things that trail behind it. And redirect that money to projects that find a way to artificially bring rain to those fields and to build defenses against those storms. You could do ALL of that from the comfort of your home. Usher in a new age of peace while still wearing your favorite fluffy slippers....So yea I'd choose Emma any day.

TL:DR. Emma. Her powers have for more applicable usage.

I don't even see how this debate (which btw has completely derailed the thread) is even still going when EMMA HERSELF said that Jean was the most gifted psi she'd ever encountered. We ALL know Emma and that's not something she's likely to admit unless its 100% true.. hell she even says it in the scan to a degree.

And folks lets not play with semantics.. We all know that "gifted" is just another word for "skilled"....

So this is pretty much either Jean and Cyclops vs Storm OR Jean vs Storm.

-Jean (in this odd story) would love nothing better than to mind control Cyclops into helping her kill Storm in which case Storm is forced to take them both on.. which means her odds of winning are to small to compute.

-Cyclops is killed by one of them in the titanic battle that is going to happen. And it turns into Storm vs Jean.. and im sure there are multiple threads on that.

* Bloodlusted Jean instasnaps both their necks. Yes I know Storm's powers allow her to disperse,scramble,reflect (whichever the case may be) psionic energy but I've never seen her do it at the speed it would be necessary to stop Jean from killing her.

**If phoenix is in play this is a spite of cosmic proportions.

Edit- Also IMO Storm can do much...much...much...MUCH better than Cyclops.
