As appealing/ formidable as I find the Red Lantern Corps, I have to say that the Sinestro Corps has next to zero chance of losing this fight to the Red Lantern Corps (even with equal numbers). My reasoning for this consists of 3 reasons:

1. Intelligence- "You have the Power to instill Great Fear" - Every member of the Sinestro Corps has displayed an at least average level of sentience, even upon "recruitment". For the most part Red Lanterns are practically feral upon admission. This intellectual gap reduces any of not all possible options for tactical offensives. And even those Red Lanterns with high levels of intelligence (i.e. Bleez, Skallox, etc.) have displayed varying numbers of intelligent members and most of the foot soldiers are rabid. Against an intelligent force they have no chance.

2. Organization: Unlike the Red Lantern Corps which is constantly fighting within itself and Atrocitus' mood Swings/ tantrums, there are specific duties for the Sinestro Corps members. The SC has officers, drill sergeants, and organized battle plans. In fact many of the RLC's heavy hitters have been victims of the Sinestro Corps at some point

3. Quality: "You have the Power to instill Great Fear" vs "You have great rage in your heart."

Better quality recruits for Sinestro Corps (Sinestro- Former Green Lantern, Former World Dictator, Founder of the Sinestro Corps , Soranik Natu- Doctor/Surgeon and Former Green Lantern, Mogul- Former Warlord, Rival of Superman, Owner of Warworld, Former leader of the Sinestro Corps, Batman- Enough Said, etc.)

Make no Mistake, I don't like the Sinestro Corps, I dont See the Red Lantern's winning this fight, there are too many things working against them..

"Wonder Woman" vs Lady Shiva... Really...? Are you serious?"

Yes I am.

...Now that the WTH commentary is out of the way. I would like to state first and foremost that I an fully aware that all things being equal Wonder Woman would utterly destroy Lady Shiva in direct combat.

With that said; however an interesting topic came to mind...nearly every major feat in combat she has, typically we see her as the empowered "Princess Diana"/ "who's Stronger her or Superman" version. Everyone knows she is "ungodly" powerful superhuman and an immensely skilled warrior, but... what if she was only an immensely skilled warrior... Could Wonder Woman with the skills she possesses be sufficient to defeat one of the world's greatest martial artists and (arguably) the deadliest assassin in the world, Lady Shiva Without her Superpowers in hand to hand/ close quarters combat; The Student (and eventual Goddess) of War or the Goddess of Death?

**Important Note** this battle accounts for all pre and post New 52 feats.

Tale of the Tape:

No Caption Provided

Wonder Woman

Name: Princess Diana of Themyscira/ Diana Prince

Eyes/Hair: Blue/ Black

ht/wt: 6'0"/165 lbs.

Skills and Abilities:Diana is the finest warrior ever born among the Amazons of Themyscira. She is a master of armed and unarmed combat, proficient with nearly every weapon ever made (especially the bow and the javelin) and the exotic martial arts styles of the Amazons. Batman once remarked that Wonder Woman is the best melee fighter in the world

Feats: With her powers- too many to list.

Without her powers- Fought an enhanced Captain Nazi and Held her own in an enclosed location without her powers

She outclassed her fellow amazons in numerous tests of skill and endurance (she was depowered to "normal levels" on Themyscira).

Pros:

Point Blank- Even without her powers she can still fight She is a master of armed and unarmed combat, proficient with nearly every weapon ever made (especially the bow and the javelin)

Training with I- Ching

Trained by Ares (the literal God of War): ENOUGH SAID

SPB Engagement: Extensive experience in fighting metahumans

Cons:

Less Experience fighting against formidable enemies without her powers. Granted she has beaten Batman, but she did so with her superior power levels not just her skills.

Lady Shiva

Name: Sandra Woosan

Eyes/Hair: Brown/ Black

ht/wt: 5'8"/141 lbs.

Skills and Abilities:Lady Shiva has no superpowers, but she is regarded as one of the best assassins and martial artists on the planet. She is known to have learned and mastered numerous martial arts, including long forgotten ones. She is able to read people's movements through their body language, predicting their movements beforehand. She taught this trick to her daughter Cassandra Cain. She is able to hold her own against multiple opponents. She is commonly seen as the world's foremost martial artist, as powerful as Richard Dragon and Batman. Batman, who is also considered to be one of the greatest martial artists, stated that "she may well be the best fighter alive."

Shiva is very literate in body language. She can often predict what an opponent will do before they do it and better plan her attacks this way.

She can control her nervous system enabling her to deaden her body to physical pain, control her emotions. She can even control her bleeding rate.

Lady Shiva has also proved capable of wielding samurai and ninja swords.

Feats: Beaten Batman repeatedly, Beaten Robin/ Nightwingrepeatedly,Trained Batman (Knightfall), Tim Drake, Cassandra Cain, Richard Dragon and numerous others, effortlessly subdue Supergirl (Linda Danvers incarnation), Arguably the World's deadliest Assassin,

Pros:

Total body control and awareness: control Shiva is very literate in body language. She can often predict what an opponent will do before they do it and better plan her attacks this way. While Wonder Woman is a skilled tactician and combatant. She often takes the most direct approach until she is pressured which allows Shiva to gain the upper hand.

Extensive martial Arts Skill: she is commonly seen as the world's foremost martial artist, and her well of her knowledge of forgotten fighting arts could include amazonian martial arts...especially if she has seen any wonder woman's fights on youtube, facebook, instagram, twitter. etc.

Psychological "intimidation" factor: "Intimidation" may be a strong word, but she knows Batman; and to date batman has never beaten her hand to hand combat in a one on one fight...ever. That has to count for something.

Cons:

Limited experience against Superhumans she has a very low amount of feats against people of the metahuman variety. In fact the only ones I can think of are Supergirl (Linda Danvers), and Killer Croc.

History with Batman may cause her to underestimate Wonder Woman's ruthless streak and willingness to kill.

Ties to the superhero community: may cause her to underestimate Wonder Woman's combat prowess due the the brute force tactics commonly employed by the superhero community.

My Vote: Winner Lady Shiva

The lines have been drawn who wins?

While I voted yes on this poll, I am still on the fence in regards to this topic. On one hand if this book becomes simply a "power couple romance novel comic" then it will be a trainwreck (in my opinion). On the otherhand, (while I may be in the minority on this one) this book has a lot of potential to be a great series. While I am somewhat partial to the pre new 52 Wonder Woman, I realize that this is a younger and more impulsive incarnation of her (being Ares "apprentice" will do that to you); she's a hothead with godlike power and a superiority complex, Superman's influence may temper that somewhat. that would be very interesting to see. Superman on the other hand is too conservative on many issues and when he does get involved he doesn't think things through until he is nearly beaten into the ground; Wonder Woman could provide a tactical on his enemies that he often overlooks (at least until Batman backhands him with his Kryptonite pinkie ring...lol). And their sheer powerlevels would allow for an interesting dynamic of superpowered team ups

SM and WW vs Zod and Faora Hu Ul-read her bio it makes as much sense as Ursa

SM and WW Mongul and Maxima

SM and WW vs a cabal of New Gods/ NewGenesians who are less " Good than their peers, or a few Apokoliptan elite not just Darkseid

Furthermore if they are fighting side by side what type of enemies would would be qualified to fight the both of them shy of Darkseid Highfather and doomsday. Lots of special power Battles on a scale we have yet to see simply because in a team setting they both have to hold back for the sake of their less empowered teammates for fear of injuring or killing them by mistake.

I'm intrigued by this possibility...just please dont turn it in to "Superman and Wonder Woman: Days of our Lives Edition"

If you can assure me of that...I'm game.

I was looking for images for Jaina Solo on google and I noticed an actress who bears an uncanny resemblance to her both in appearance and the type of character depicted in her movie roles; Kate Beckinsale. I put those pictures here so you could compare them for yourselves. What do you think?

While Arrow is undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with at close, mid, and long range, I ultimately have to give the victory to:
Black Widow.

Granted Arrow has shown himself to be an unprecedented survivalist, strategist and combatant, he is (in my opinion) too inexperienced, naive, and too indecisive to beat Black Widow. Malcolm Merlin said it best during their second to last confrontation "Make up your mind!".
Black Widow is
more focused
more experienced against a larger variety of villains (superhuman or otherwise)
and (at the risk of coming across as being sexist) she is a woman (Which has been Oliver's weakness in every incarnation of his character and one Black Widow is fully prepared to exploit to her advantage).

All in all Black Widow Brings more depth to this fight, and while Arrow is formidable to say the least he is still far to inexperienced and has too many vices (women, ego, one track mind) for him to be able to beat her in a confrontation without Diggle's or Felicity's help.

... Truthfully as much as I would like to be upset by this "revelation", due to the fact that they are both great series (I will openly say that I am an avid viewer of both shows and greatly enjoy both of them), every one who watches these series has to admit (if you are honest with yourselves) that you knew this was long overdue. I understand that there will be many people who will disagree with me about this, but when you have two shows (however great they may be) that spend more of their airtime off the air than they do on it due to several prolonged hiatuses then it really comes as no surprise to me that this is occurring. While they are both excellent shows no doubt about it, Young justice season 1 took a year and a half "haitus" that is not withstanding the mid season and holiday breaks and season 2 has taken several months off as well (nowhere near as long as season 1, but still) . Green lantern, though fewer breaks (and shorter as well) than Young justice has still taken several prolonged hiatuses as well. As a viewer who has had to wait for these delays it was infuriating (stop me if I'm wrong), but thinking about this from a capitalist perspective (we're all trying to make a profit for whatever reason) if I can fit two seasons of 2 good shows (i.e. 4 seasons/ 2 seasons a show) into the time it takes to create 1 season for two... then it makes sense to cancel the "weak link.

Again I mean this as no disrespect to the young Justice/ Green Lantern loyalists (I'm also a member), but there were too many AWOL moments for these shows (from a practical standpoint) to persevere; regardless of how good they are.

P.S

Sorry so "Ranty"
