Sometimes Wikipedia is a wonderful thing. Here's the bare bones of what you can read in the Wikipedia article:

Washington Crossing the Deleware was painted by Emanuel Leutze in 1850, but it was damaged in a fire in his studio, and then restored. On September 5th, 1942, it was destroyed in an Allied bombing raid.

He started a second version in 1850, that was first exibited in October, 1851. It eventually found a home in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It was vandalized in January, 2002, but no major damage was done to it.

A third, smaller scale version hung in the White House from 1979-2014, but it doesn't say when it was painted. It now resides in the Minnesota Marine Art Museum.
