I have to be honest: I don't know how this hasn't been done yet. Is Topps holding onto this for some reason? Is the Kirby family keeping a lid on it? How did trades of this not happen when Dynamite did Kirby: Genesis?

Topps Comics debuted just a month or so after Image. They specialized in licensed properties (including my favorite Zorro series of all time) but to my mind, their biggest coup was snagging Jack Kirby for what became known as The Kirbyverse. Most of the characters had previously appeared in Pacific Comics titles, but honestly, I didn't know anything about that then. To me, these were "brand new" characters by The King himself! Add to that the fact that Savage Dragon appeared in Bombast #1, and I was all in!

I kind of felt like the Kirbyverse books were all over the place. You had three superhero one-shots that were orbiting the Secret City Saga, and SCS itself which seemed kind of New Gods-y to me, even despite the appearance of then President Clinton. TeenAgents was a sort of lighthearted take on a group of superpowered kids from a subterranean city. Satan's Six was about six souls that were trying to work off and/or escape their contracts with the devil, and it included an odd-but-fun crossover moment with Jason Voorhees. And if I recall correctly, Silver Star and Victory came later in an attempt to cement the Kirbyverse as a thing. Unfortunately for us all, Mister Kirby passed away just as it was really picking up steam.

For Topps Comics Presents, I'd only include the Satan's Six and TeenAgents material. For the cover, I'd go with Secret City Saga #0. As omnibus printing has come a long way, I'd go with making this all one book. It'd be twenty-two issues of fun by The King. Where could this go wrong? But you tell me...

Would U Buy It? Let me know in the comments, and thanks for reading.
