We all have trade paperback (TPB) collections we'd like to see. Here's one of mine:

Proposed Title:Superman & Batman: Generations III
Collecting 12 Issues:
  • S&B: Generations III #1-12.
Covers: (click to enlarge)
TPB Cover: S&B: Generations III #12.
TPB Cover: S&B: Generations III #12.

It's weird to me that DC never did a trade paperback of this mini-series, because they did them for the two preceding stories: Superman & Batman: Generations, and Superman & Batman: Generations II (although the TPB for II is not on CV at the time of this writing). Even those are out of print though.

That's too bad, really. All three Generations series were fun rides. The basic premise is this: DC with generational continuity. That is: Superman and Batman first appeared on Earth back in the Thirties (when their comics were first published in real life). The rest is about them, their descendants, and even whether they died or live today.

With that kind of plot, how do you not include a subplot with immortals like the New Gods? That's right, Darkseid appears here!

The truth is: I've never read this series. I have most of the issues, but I'm missing at least one. I've been waiting until I can find the missing one(s) to read this story. I did read I and II though. They were fantastic! Why DC doesn't keep this in print is truly beyond me. I might even be willing to pay full price for this one. ...Nahhh. But I'd buy it.

For the cover, I'm tempted to default to Issue #1, but Supes and Bats are only in the background, phantom-like. Instead, I think I'd go with the last issue, with Supes, Bats, and company in the center. Besides, that cover has more color to it. I might use at least part of #1 for the back cover though (the rest to be covered over by the back cover blurb- gotta promote the book, after all).

Would U Buy It? Let me know in the comments, and thanks for reading.
