Just keeping the notes on my versions of the OSC's I plan to use separate from the Open Sourced entries. That way, there's no confusion for anyone on what's Open Source, and what's mine. -CB

The Black Fist

11/22/22: I did a bunch of reading on the TV Tropes site yesterday, and one of the entries gave me an idea for a character. It was one of those that formed pretty quickly for me, and I always like that. Immediately after I got the idea for the character down, I ran across The Black Fist, and went, "Oh, he has to fight this character." So, he'll be popping up.

The Danger Family

11/17/22: I want to write these characters, but I'm trying to decide what exactly to do with them. For one, I have my own adventure family that I need to introduce at some point- this would be a bit redundant. I can work that out though- different time periods, they're missing, they're dead, etc. The other thing is I already have a Doctor Danger character. I can work that out too- descendant/relative, or maybe my Doctor Danger is this Doc Danger at an earlier or later time. I'll definitely have to think... actually, I've got it:

My Doctor Danger "duels dragons daily" (playing off of the Bob McLeod Superhero ABC book I snitched the Danger Man character from [and then transformed]). Maybe a dragon was responsible for the disappearance or deaths of the Danger Family (which actually makes me chuckle, because it plays into the alliteration of the Danger Man story), and Doctor Danger duels them either for revenge or leads to his family's whereabouts. Ooo, I really like that idea. :)

Deathspeaker

11/22/22: I really like this guy's look. The name "Deathspeaker" didn't make a lot of sense to me until I imagined this exchange:

"Why do they call you Deathspeaker?"

Cocking his gun, the vigilante growls, "Because my guns do the talking."

And now I know how he got to be the scourge that cleaned up a portion of the city.

I will probably transplant this guy into anything new I write for Wild Western, and ignore the bit about Scarlet Shade, but I definitely want to use this guy.

***

The other thing I could see happening: a revelation that Deathspeaker is not the man... it's the gun.

Devastator

11/22/22: I took one look at this guy, and went, "Wow, it's Solomon Seal, only African-American." Why? Because of the red hat and coat. That's what I picture Solomon wearing. I also realized that I've never said what Solomon's skin tone is. I've used some pics that imply he's caucasian, but I've never actually said in the stories. So, remove the pictures, and he could be African-American. It made me think seriously about retroactively making Solomon African-American just so I could use the pic as reference for him. Two problems with that: 1) the pic is copyrighted to Scott Griffin, and 2) I do see Solomon as caucasian.

Still, I really like Devastator's look. "Frank Idlewild" is a good name that says a lot about his character. I'm not crazy about "Challenger Corps" though. Too much like "Challengers of the Unknown" to me, so I'll probably scrap that bit.

Doc Mettle

11/22/22: Anytime I see "Doc" in front of a character name, I think "pulp hero" and "Doc Savage," and this guy certainly looks the part! I won't be using "Challenger Corps," but I may preserve his association with Devastator (another member of CC).

Ghost Tiger. and .The White Bat. (and my OC: Ghostfighter)

Notes: Ghost Tiger quit using the Ring Mong, because he realized someone was killing the villains he fought after he started using the ring. Angry, he wished the ring would disappear. The Wishing Demon appears to him, and says he can make that happen. Ghost Tiger wishes for that to happen, and TWD makes it turn invisible, and then disappears himself with the ring. GT finds out he still has the powers the ring gave him, but the curse that came with the ring is off of him. When he hears reports of someone with his powers shaking down villains for information, he starts looking for them. He finds Ghostfighter while she's helping White Bat, pulls her into an alley (leaving White Bat on her own in the fight), and warns her about the ring. He also tells her that TWD has lied to her- the ring didn't just allow her to become solid, it actually brought her back to life. He gets her to take the ring off, and see that she still has the powers. She is about to give up the ring when there is a gunshot, and they see that the White Bat has been shot. Horrified that she didn't have the hero's back, Ghostfighter (followed by GT) fights off the rest of the thugs, and puts the ring on White Bat's finger. The ring resurrects WB, Ghostfighter takes the ring off her finger, but refuses to give it back to Ghost Tiger*. Destiny Grant continues to fight as The White Bat, but soon discovers she has the powers the ring gives. She eventually changes her name to Ghost Bat.

Side Note: The old Chinese man who gave the Ghost Tiger the Ring Mong had to have been a chang. He gave him the ring to be rid of his curse.

*Side Note 2: Ghostfighter keeps the ring, because she wants to be wearing it when she fights Shen. She figures even if she loses, the tiger god will show up to try to eat Shen. She's also hedging her bets in case Shen kills her again, so that the ring will revive her once again. Until then, she won't wear it. At some point, someone will show up to ask her to give it up so that it can be returned to the Manor of Mysticism.

Red-Letter

11/17/22: Dustin's bio for Red-Letter will likely be one that I swerve away from severely. In fact, I'll probably use him as a villain (although maybe a villain who thinks he's a hero). That's the beauty of Open Source/Public Domain though- you can change things how you will.

Skyfire

11/18/22: Dustin's description says she's very full of herself, and is more of a villain like Sabbac than Black Adam, but I'm going to ignore that, and put her on a hero team.

Tom Foolery

11/22/22: I have a Tom Foolery on my list already. I made it someone else's alias, because there is already a Tom Foolery in the comic The Family Dynamic. I may combine my TF with this TF just for the visual. I have another name in mind that I may slap onto this character.

Thanks for reading! :^D
