As far as I'm permanently concerned, Starro is just the DCU manifestation of Shuma-Gorath. Similar to how the green-skinned martial artist Willow (once encountered by Aquaman, Atom, and the Elongated Man) is the DCU equivalent of Mantis. The original Marvel comic book version, that is! The former Celestial Madonna that started out as the Swordsman's kick-butt girlfriend...rather than the insipid GOTG played by Pom Klementieff.*

*In fact, her MIDR character, Paris, is what the silver screen Mantis _should_ have been!
