My Favorite Star Wars Films

Star Wars: The Force Awakens was released this past week and I was able to get an early premiere viewing on December 17th. I will say, I was astounded at the quality of it, so in honor of the 7th Star Wars film, I present, my 5 favorite Star Wars films in order!

Notice: This whole list is opinionated! Spoilers are ahead!

  • I can talk about this movie for a whole year. I was able to see it a day before it came out, and I will say it is one of the greatest things I have seen on a screen of any sorts. The new actors, the old actors, the new planets, new aliens, new bad guys, new death star, new lightsabers, new EVERYTHING! I don't care if the plot is the same as A New Hope, this is one of the best movies I've ever seen, and that's only because it brought me back to the old Star Wars and made me realize how amazing this whole series was and that Star Wars, despite the fact it is a very recent story, and despite the prequels, is one of the greatest stories ever told.

    15/10.

I can't explain how amazing it is.

  • This movie is probably the most iconic film ever made. When this movie came out, it changed the whole movie industry. Why? It was different. I could probably make a whole post about how revolutionary this movie is. You know what? I will do that. After this. Anyway, the opening scene, the world-famous score, the robots, the bad guys, the lightsabers, the force, the spaceships, the aliens, everything is great I can't describe it. It is a definite 10/10.

  • This one I would say had no flaws. I loved the Hoth battle so much, and I liked the introduction of Yoda and every scene on Cloud City is great. Now, I know that this is the favorite of many people, but it wasn't my favorite, there wasn't anything wrong with it, just that the other two were better. I loved the whole Asteroid Worm section. I do feel as though this is a tad bit overrated, but that's probably just me being the film critic I'm not. I would definitely give this film a 9/10. Absolutely amazing

  • I was not the biggest fan of this one. It kind of bored me to death most of the time. I liked the opening with Jabba the Hutt, and I sort of liked the end duel with Luke and Vader and the Emperor, but let's be honest here, were the Ewoks even necessary? I mean, it was like throwing stuffed animals into the middle of an action movie climax. The only real characters I cared about were Han, Chewie, R2, and Lando. The new Death Star was very cool and I wanted to know more about it before they blew it up, but sadly, that didn't happen. I would give this one a 7/10 just for being iconic.

  • I actually enjoyed Revenge of the Sith. I liked the Lightsaber Duels and I liked how Jar Jar Binks was almost not in the movie. Besides, it's got Samuel L. Jackson and Christopher Lee. I thought that this was the only good Star Wars prequel, and It did entertain me, however not to the fullest extent. It was one of the movies where you just watch it to know the full Star Wars story, not to be wildly entertained. After watching it once, I didn't really need to see it again. I will say that the end scene with Anakin and Obi-Wan on Mustafar was pretty cool, and I liked whenever Anakin was turned into Darth Vader. All around, I would give it a 5 or 6 out of 10. The prequels were just not for me. Or anyone, for that matter.
