I'll definitely be checking this out. These out of the typical "norm" titles from Marvel are usually pretty good. I am a little sad we can't get an actual 1872 ongoing. The Secret Wars book has been excellent.
Five years, no. I absolutely think ten years is very possible though. More creators are jumping into creator owned books now, especially with many more of them being bought for tv and movie rights now. If several of these shows and movies are successful, it will only help in getting more adults to realize that comics are more than superheroes, and a legitimate form of storytelling. The Walking Dead has already started this process. Most of todays younger readers will age out of capes and tights but still find comics and more mature stories enjoyable, all the while DC and Marvel will continue to struggle to find new readers. The tide is already shifting, it will be interesting to see if it ever shifts that far.
DC/Warner Brothers is a major corporation. These kinds of problems start at the top and then trickle down. They need to clean house of all top and upper level executives and management.
Lazarus and We Stand On Guard is all for me this week, might check out Plutona. Thanks for the reminder on the Lady Killer trade. I missed out on the issues and definitely want to read it.
