To answer the poll, The Batman is probably a more layered movie with a better protagonist, but The Dark Knight is lightning in a bottle and not even a movie like The Batman tops it.

He clears nearly everyone except for a few like Batman, Joker, and Morpheus. There are some other close contenders like Constantine, Manhattan, Rorschach, Ozymandias, etc.
