I actually just went on a mini rant about her not even 2 weeks ago on a post asking if anyone thought she had the potential to ever be an A-lister. It's way too much to repost here, but if you wanna jump over and check it out, I give my opinion on why I feel she's underrated and her potential.

In short, I think she's awesome, and I faintly remember her being referred to as having Omega level potential.

I haven't picked-up the recent X-Treme books, but I'm glad to hear she may finally be getting some decent recognition. I'll be picking them up to see exactly how well she'd being handled.

Hope this treatment of her raises her from third tier X-Men to an A-lister. Too often she's handled as a gimmick... borderline joke even.

I'm actually a huge fan of Alison, and underdog characters in general, so I'm about to go on a rant. You've been warned, lol.

I absolutely believe she has the potential to be an A-List character, and not just within the X-Men but within the Marvel Universe. Let's not forget that's how she started. Long before she was ever an X-Men she was out on her own going up against some of the toughest the Marvel Universe has to offer. She might not have always come out on top, but she never backed down.

She's been referred to several times by numerous characters and writers as being quite powerful, or having the potential for it. If I'm remembering correctly, I vaguely recall her being referred to as possibly having the potential to be Omega level. For the life of me, I can't remember where I might have read that, so admittedly, it might be wishful thinking. Over the course of her career, she's been offered membership in several teams. Many of which she turned down. This includes the ALL Mighty Avengers...

If you just think about her power set, she's almost always down played by writers. Every now and then someone might do her a little justice, but for the most part, they show her no respect. Just recently, in a battle against a legion of vampires, she was portrayed as being useless after the vampires got a hold of some magical amulets that protected them from otherwise deadly light. I can understand that part of the equation. The problem that I have with this is that she's more resourceful than that. She can do so much more with her powers than simply shine some light. Just off the top of my head, her powers allow her to create force fields, shoot lasers, create hard light constructs, mute her surroundings, create holograms, release stored sound, release blinding blasts of light, shine, hypnotize, induce calm or cause vertigo, limited flight, use other forms of light energy like microwave energy, invisibility, heightened sense of hearing, echolocation and more. Using these powers in different ways should make her quite resourceful and powerful... instead she's more often portrayed way below her potential.

Even taking her powers out of the equation, she's a fairly decent fighter through her training with the Gladiators, X-Men and various other groups. Not to mention everything she's been through on her own... and she can sing too!

Back when Mystique had an ongoing book as an operative for Xavier, I thought it would be fun if someone wrote a "Charlie's Angel's/Danger Girl/Mission Impossible" type of book with an X-Women twist consisting of characters suited for that kind of work like Shadowcat, Mystique, Sage, Psylocke and especially Dazzler. Unfortunately, I feel if the did make this book, they would make it more tongue in cheek than take it seriously.

If she can get some decent face time with a writer that cares enough about her, then she can really shine.

Here's hoping she gets some respect in her new series

I'm a huge Wonder Woman fan and I have to admitt that, as much as I want to see a movie or TV show come to life, I'm actually kinda glad this project didn't get the greenlight. The concept ideas weren't impressing me. On top of that, I didn't really care for the costume or the chosen actress. I'm sure she's great, but I personally didn't care for her look.

I don't mind waiting longer if it means a better end product, but I hope this doesn't stalemate all Wonder Woman projects.

Over the years I've come to expect studios to utilize basic story ideas and character concepts, but throw everthing else to the wind. I understand that they do this for a number of reasons. For one, they are trying to appeal to the masses rather than the core audience they should be concentrating on if they wanted to actually do the movie true justice.

The movie that first comes to mind that suffered because of this is Mortal Kombat. I know this isn't a comic movie, but it suffered the same fate as many comic based movies. They castrated it so that a younger audience could watch it. The end result was a family friendly mediocre action movie when it should have been closer to the Mortal Kombat Legacy shorts that are just now coming out.

Another problem is that the people heading the projects have no interests or knowledge of what they are in charge of. They're coming into it as business men rather than fans. Even bringing in a good group of people to work on the film will only do so much if they are given restaints and guidlines.

Needless to say, I still watch every comic related movie that comes out. I am a long time fan, and will take what I can get in terms of movies. At first, I used to get irked at all the inconsistencies because I knew how events and characters were supposed to be. After repeatedly being disappointed I started viewing each movie as an Elseworlds story. Or some alternate timeline, ala the Ultimate Universe or the Mutant X universe were things were way different. From then on, I found that I can enjoy the movies more. Even ones that I previously didn't like much.

All that said, I would still love to start seeing movies coming out specifically made by fans for fans. Of course, there will always be liberties taken. You can only do so much in  live action and in a couple hours time frame. They would have to take full storylines and break them up into trilogies Lord of the Rings style. Some things can only be conveyed through comics or animation unfortunately. Be it because cost or technology.

So there's my few cents on the subject...

Well if I remember right, Wonder Woman took on an enhanced version of Doomsday, although I'm sure not on this level, and won by using the Gauntlets of Atlas which multiplied her power ten fold.

I don't see why that wouldn't work for Superman, but if he can't use the gauntlets, then maybe some help from a gauntlet wielding Wonder Woman would be useful. Then again, I haven't been keeping up with her story, but from what I gather, she isn't the same Wonder Woman at the moment. In any case,  I believe the gauntlets are still at the museum Wonder Girl's mom works at.

Just a thought...

I personally don't think the Darkstalker characters would be hard to translate and as a huge fan of them, I would LOVE to see it happen.

Some of the characters might need a little tweeking, but not too much to change them completely.

I can totally see Morrigan with a look in the vein of Selene aka the Black Queen. I don't think it's too crazy to see Dimitri as an old adversary/associate of Dracula.  Talbain, Felicia and Rikuo would fit in perfectly with a Midnight Sons title. Even BB Hood would find a niche place if it was worked at, as silly as it might sound to some people.

I know not all of the characters are in Marvel vs Capcom 3, but you get the idea

Let me start by saying that I'm a fan of both characters, but let's be realistic.

Wonder Woman fights ACTUAL gods and goddesses on a regular basis. Storm might have been worshiped as a goddess, but she isn't one. Just a side note... Wonder Woman actually was a goddess at one point, but chose to step down.

As far as Marvel vs DC goes... that fight was pathetically written. Wonder Woman could have easily evaded or even blocked Storm's lightning. Her bracelets have been shown to block several things including Darkseid's Omega beams and other forms of energy. Wonder Woman, if I remember right, went against Juggernaut during that same series on her own. Storm needs the backing of a whole team of X-Men to take him on. Sure, that might be a case of strength, but Wonder Woman doesn't even need that to win.

Storm's powers are varied and useful so I'll give her some credit, but in the end... she goes down.

AND I find it hard to believe anyone would believe Storm can hold her own against Diana in hand to hand combat. Again, I'll give Storm credit as a good fighter, but even without her strength Diana is LEAGUES above Storm.

I feel Thor would have been a better match. Maybe even Hulk, Hercules or the whole Wrecking Crew.

Anyway, already long story short.

Storm taking down Diana is a joke told by delusional X-Men fans who probably think Wolverine can take down Galactus Darkseid and Thanos on his own, lol. That was an attempt at a joke before anyone starts hating on me. I myself am an X-Men fan

Do I believe Wonder Woman can take on and even defeat Superman. Yes, I absolutely do. I'm not saying it would be an easy win, or that she'd always win, but she can win. They've battled many times, and I always enjoy different writers takes on the battle. Like always, you have to take all factors in. Where they are, why they're fighting and any other of the hundreds of factors that can change the situation. Many of the stories end in draws for one reason or another. Unfortunately, no one will ever write an unbiased fight. It's always going to be written from the writers own view on the characters. Most of which, can't bring themselves to see DC's premier superhero beaten by a girl. Even if it is DC's premier woman. I myself would be, admittedly, biased towards WW.

To answer the question though. Yes, I do think Wonder Woman can break Superman's bones...

I agree... an enemy on the level of Luthor would be good. I did like Veronica, but I feel uncomfortable with the idea that almost all of her major villains have to be women. Yes, I know she has Ares and an occassional male adversary, but she needs someone who sticks around and makes an name for themselves and affects the rest of the DCU.

Beyond that, I'd have to think it over some more

To each his own. In this case, your opinion.

I still believe WW to be "stronger," but I won't spend any time explaining myself, because quite frankly everyone seems to be pretty adament in their opinion and whatever I have to say won't change anything.
