I see where he's coming from even though I don't fully agree with him. Some people do take things too far when it comes to crying racism or whatever. My question is why are people so obsessed with wanting to be able offend other people?
Because truth and facts offend people.
Islam, feminism and black lives matter followers don't (want to) get the facts, just to promote their agenda. They just get offended and shout buzz words like islamophobia, mansplaining and racism to shut down discourse and censor free speech and art.
God, I bet you guys would love for this to be true. Sadly it isn't because in the end, comic book fans will always be the battered wives of all medias.
Not absolutely sure how true that is. It is clear from this site and some sales figures that people have, to a degree, stopped reading Marvel. I know I did, completely. I liked some of the changes but ultimately I left simply because it felt as though they were running out of ideas.
I actually started getting more into DC because of Rebirth. So for the time being, DC has me back.
However, I mostly went to Image. Image, at least from what I've seen, hasn't quite gone the way of Marvel, DC or even Valiant.
I've been reading Image too, only Jonathan Hickman though. I love that he's driven by artistic integrity and not pushing an agenda. Or at the very least he's skillful enough to hide it better.
Funnily enough, Civil war 2 was one of the biggest sellers for June, if comichron is to be believed.
I can believe it but the reasons probably have nothing to do with quality:
Civil War II is going to do well because events sell well. It's a sequel to one of the better regarded Marvel events (of relatively recent history anyways) and it's coming out the same year the Civil War movie was a huge hit in theatres.
The only Bond movie with a sad ending that explains why the protagonist is how he is. It has the only Bond Woman (instead of Girl though there's plenty of them in the movie) played brilliantly by Dame Diana Rigg. The movie has one of John Barry's best scores. Probably the best version of Blofeld played by Telly Savalas. George Lazenby might not be the best Bond but the script and direction more than make up for it in my mind.
The fighting scenes are fierce, the snow themed action scenes are inventive but not over the top. The final action scene atop Piz Gloria is glorious.
