Yeh you read the subject title right... Apparently there's gonna be a new T'challa

The whole reason I was thinking about this is because of a few comments left by Jonathan Maberry (the new writer)... I left a quote and a link bellow...

When asked what his plans for T'challa is, Maberry answered:
"One of the joint ideas –laid down in Reggie's arc and continued through the new arc—is that T'Challa is going through some serious changes. He's not the Panther any more and readers are going to be blown away by his journey, his motivations, and his choices. I can pretty much guarantee that people will be talking about this for a long time."

After being asked if T'challa is gonna stay in the book, Maberry said:
"There are some real surprises coming in the T'Challa story, and unless Marvel whacks me over the head for saying so, I think Wakanda's noblest son will be around –in one form or another—for a long, long time."

And Hudlin said:
"T'Challa will always be in the book. It's just how he appears"

I'm thinking his coma is some sort of cocoon type state which is helping his metamorphosis into something new... I wonder if he'll turn into some sort of were-panther, because it has been indicated more than once that he can take this form. One of them was in the mangaverse comics where he could change into a were-panther and another was in the ultimates 2 film (there are other occasions which I can't recall right now). Yeh I know these didn't have anything to do with the main storyline but it could be an indication. I honestly don't care what he becomes as long as he looks kool, kills allot of villains and the storyline is darker

Tell me what you think

Stay Blessed

Peace

Jonathan Maberry is a horror writer... and many of black panthers fans are adults and late teens, maybe they'll make BP a darker character with more spooky story lines

REJOICE PANTHER FANS!!! It looks like Hudlin's about to take his final bow and release us from his evil death grip. He'll be replaced by writer Jonathan Maberry, who will be joined by artist Will Conrad... I have been waiting 4 longass years for this.

Check out the full story here: http://uk.comics.ign.com/articles/981/981788p1.html

Well considering all of BP's physical conditions are peak human without being super human he is sometimes considered to be super human, because when used together they sometimes allow for super human feats. For example speed, technique, training and experience can allow for superhuman feats, like a martial artist breaking ice slabs or a swimmer staying under water for extended amounts of time. Also with his super human senses and superior intellect he can calculate the outcome of many situations and peoples/animals actions, which is in a way predicting the future using facts and possibilities.

But yeh he has peak human physical capabilities, but with the use of his Vibranium, he becomes superhuman in many ways. He can wall crawl when he uses his claws to dig in surfaces and the vibranium soles of his shoes can stick to surfaces (he was able to walk on the bottom of a plane and a wall in Preists run). Also he can walk/stand on water, and his suite allows for him to withstand many different types of attacks. Which also begs the questions how Doom easily managed to attack and defeat him, because I'm pretty sure BP has enough knowledge on Doom to know what to do in a confrontation and wouldn't blindly attack him, but then again BP has always been too proud to back down from a fight and Hudlin has given both characters a deep rivalry.
Also the suite has Vibranium lenses over the eyes which also allows for BP's eyes to be protected in the eye area from attacks and it cuts out glare from bright light which would make it difficult for him to see in a fight with his super senses.

So far I have noticed many times where Hudlin had dismissed BP's superhuman senses (like when BP used an ear peice to listen in on a conversation he should be able to hear with his super hearing)

Anyway I hope I answered the question... stay blessed,

Peace

African vernacular?... are you joking? please don't categorise us like that, we don't all speak the same language in Africa you know. Depending on where you go in Africa and what language they speak in that specific area the T maybe pronounced differently or kept silent..

"Not really sure, but I think this was a topic for another thread. Anyway, after watching the second Marvel Comic's Ultimate Avengers movie, I'd have to conclude his name is pronounced something like Tuh-cha-la. As for the historical references Static pointed out, T'Challa's father -- T'Chaka -- apparently owe his given name to an colonial era Zulu Chief. Here in the states (and presumably in South Africa) his name is pronounced with a silent T, now if it's okay to apply that same grammar to his son who has a similarly spelled name (T'Challa with a silent T) than I surmise the pronounciation that Babs uses is more or less correct. I alternate how I pronounce it under special circumstances. Either Tuh-cha-la or Cha-la. To get the right consonant for the name you would have to imitate an African accent, otherwise T'Challa (with a silent T) would sound like the name of some cute plush doll. And we won't have none of that!"
I have no real issue with what you said, but you do categorise Africa as if it is one country because you said "To get the right consonant for the name you would have to imitate an African accent". To be honest most countries don't have a single accent and Africa is a continent (emphasis on the word). So like a continent it has many dialects and languages which vary greatly as you travel from region to region. For example Swahili in Uganda (where I'm from) is different from Swahili in Kenya. Even though the languages are pretty much the same certain words are pronounced differently and there are words that's meaning varies between countries. Its not only you, but many people seem to look at Africa as a country and nobody understands that wherever you go in Africa things vary between the people, culture, language, accent, fashion, food, dialect and political/religious views. Anyway my point is that we don't have a single accent in Africa and it just annoys me when people assume we do.

By the way according to the UA2, T'Challa is pronounced tuh-challa (or however you wanna spell the sound)

Anyway stay blessed

Peace

Its part of the costume design, not hair."

I don't think so

Prediction: I think the new BP is Storm"
Its Storm and that looks like hair to me. Maybe they kept the hair on the other promotional images to throw us off. I mean this picture is pretty conclusive as to who it will be. She better not neglect her powers for more stealthy and acrobatic manoeuvring is all I'm gonna say.

Some people deserve to be beat up side of the head for the blatant stupidity I have just read. Let me make a few simple points.

1. Not all black people have afro hair. We also have naturally strait hair.

2. Being Brazilian is your nationality as stated by Phoenix of the Black Throne. Saying it defines your race is like saying that a Kenyan person isn't white because they are Kenyan. Pure stupidity.

3. Brazil has the highest population of Black people outside of Africa (they identify themselves as black) your pigment doesn't define your nationality.

4. People are only black because of their skin colour. There is no such thing as a predominant black culture. Being Brazilian means that you were Born in Brazil or have lived there for an extended period of time. Nothing more and nothing less. Largest population of black people outside of Africa remember.

5. Black is an identity. Some of you guys saying that he's not black because he never called himself black, makes a point. I identify as being black because of our definition of black here in the west, but if I turned around and said I'm not black, who are you or anybody else to argue? Many people who we consider to be black refer to themselves in different lights. Being African is not the same as being black. Africa's a continent not a country. Try and remember that.

6. Who ever said that being Brazilian means your not black is the most stupid ignorant uneducated fool I've ever come across. Black defines your skin colour, nothing more and nothing less. It doesn't define your culture unless you allow it to. When someone asks "where are you from" I've never heard someone else reply "I'm black".

7. And that brings me to my last point. If you think Brazilians cannot be Black then you shouldn't consider anybody to be black in the first place. I'm Ugandan born and bred, but that Doesn't make me black, that makes me Ugandan. What makes me black is the racist mindset which has been forced into our way of thinking and we've twisted and augmented it to make it seem real. Biologically there is no such thing as race in humans other than the human race. In biological terms race is defined by genetics variation within a species. Being of a different race is being of a different sub-species, yet many Africans share genetics with many non Africans more so than they do with other Africans of the same so called race. People from Madagascar share genetics closer with Russians than they do with other Africans. The frequency of blood group B allele in Russia is the same as in Madagascar indicating zero value for genetic distance. When it comes to blood types its only really possible to trace your ancestry to a specific continent. Believe it or not but many people regardless of skin pigment can trace their origins to Africa and in Africa many people can be born with varying hair texture, skin pigment and so on because Africa's a continent not a country.

Here's a questions. My cousins (brothers) are both albino so they wouldn't come under the category as black yet their little brother and sister both have brown skin and their parents also have brown skin. Are they black? and when does being black define your genetic make-up?

Why does everyone want Echo to be the Panther it doesn't make any sense, stick her back in Dare Devil"
It doesn't make sense but Black Panther sucks and Echo doesn't.Very simple.I'm sick of T'Challa and I don't give a sh#t about Shuri or Dora.If it's Storm or Monica which I doubt I will be pissed at that too."
T'Challa doesn't suck and Echo can't even get her own book T'Challa owns. And if BP sucks why do you read it ?"
Nelomaxwell, That's exactly what I was gonna say...

Further more, Vance, why are you even replying to this topic if you don't like BP. that's pointless meandering right there. Go do your BP bashing somewhere else."
I don't like T'Challa..if he's not going to be Black Panther. And it is Echo whom I DO like than I have a reason to post here.I read his comics but his writer is horrible..it's the same reason I watch the O'Reilly Factor..just to get pissed.
T'Challa does suck right now.His comics have been lame for quite sometime and he's very poorly written just like Storm is right now.I used to love both characters.
"
Oh... Well I guess you should say you hate the writer not the characters, because as soon as Hudlin gets his grubby-fat-oily-stinking-little hands on Echo your probably gonna hate her too. By the way T'challa's still gonna be BP, but due to some battle damage he's gonna be out of the picture for a little while. I mean how he managed to get seriously hurt through the suite beats me, but we will just have to wait and see what went down."
WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!"
