I must disagree with you about this, Thor: The Dark World's final fight is the highlight of the movie after the Hemsworth/Hiddleston scenes. The portal-hopping battle was unlike any before it and I thought it was really creative and unique, it's still one of my favourite action scenes in MCU history. The movie has numerous weaknesses but that wasn't one imo.

I don’t buy into an Oscar’s value but countless do so I ask with a huge budget, inevitable box office success, fully backed studio support and marketing + media coverage x 10 what does BP actually gain here that it didn’t already have? It’s not an underdog, blockbuster movies are not underdogs, they are the John Cena of movie genres. Those indie artsy films that usually get focused on by the Academy - they depend a lot more on these kinds of awards to get a look from the public so sorry I am not trying to discredit any of the wonderfully compelling arguments surmised here but I, personally, just see it as kind of a waste of a nomination.

Someone has to get the belt off Brock first and Drew and Seth are the only possible ones I can imagine right now with Braun's embarrassment last time (facepalm). Drew isn't ready yet imo and heel vs heel at Mania is a bad idea, Seth is our only hope atm. I think AJ will get drafted to Raw after Mania and we'll get Seth vs AJ at SummerSlam, maybe even Mania next year (if they plan that far ahead). Seth and Brock did previously work well together in that triple threat with Cena? It is entirely possible they might have Finn win at RR with the whole "shake things up" stuff, I'm just skeptical since it was announced so late.
I honestly don't know who could challenge Asuka on SD, they only seem to care about 3 women there.
Lol the last win Ruby got was the Raw before Evolution... And before that it was this classic (and don't try to tell me that's a coincidence -_-) so I know realistically a Freebird Tag title reign is the best thing she could hope for in the near future, at least her team isn't IIconics-level buried just yet. Idk Smackdown is not a good place for female heels, a Squad babyface turn might be for the best though?
Picks: Seth - he's been critical of Brock's absent reign for a long time now, he's saved many shows throughout 2018, the whole Roman Reigns issue. If it wasn't for TLC and the horrible Ambrose feud I think it would be a sure thing. I think it will come down to him and AJ as I believe they'll meet soon enough.
Becky & Charlotte - I think they know they might have a Bryan situation if Becky doesn't win but man the office really loves Charlotte and giving her accolades. I think they'll go with a double winner and make it a triple threat. Both will challenge Ronda even though that makes Asuka look like shit lol.
Hopes (alternatively No Hopes): Mustafa - him and Buddy were amazing on 205 throughout last year they made that show my fav and he has a win on Bryan, love the dude he deserves it.
Ruby - the most underrated person on the roster. I would want Becky to win the title back on the night and Ruby to pick her, she showed flashes of becoming a darker character with the Anvil stuff and imo the only one who can match Becky both in ring and on the mic. I'd like to see an antihero vs sociopath feud between, could be intense.
