They stop at Plagueis. I would imagine that they have a very hard time putting down Tenebrous, but they get the job done. Plagueis's strength in the Force ultimately proves too much for them to overcome, though. They will press Hego in saber's, but it would be like Maul vs Kenobi/Jinn in TPM. Give him difficulty, but he's just better than the duo.

Excellent blog. The JAT was a pretty pivotal series in the EU, because it gave us so many great characters that we were able to see evolve, as the novels transitioned from Bantam to Del Ray. I'm pleased that Del Ray kept the EU canon together, for the most part. Remember, these novels were written even before the PT came out, so there really wasn't much to go on as far as how powerful a Jedi/Sith could really be.

I feel like a real life battle between Luke and Kun would be quite a bit different, because the vast majority of the time, the fight is settled with a blade, not the Force. I'm curious to know how skilled Luke was with a blade, here, as he had nearly nobody that was notable to practice with.

@emperor339 at first I was blown away, but then I started to pick it apart. It was a great way to start off the reboot of the franchise, for sure, but ROTJ is still my favorite. Empire is definitely the best movie. The great news is that we're about to have a whole slew of amazing films to compare, and I couldn't be more excited. :)

@azronger: Yes, that's exactly what I'm talking about. When we look at the very powerful Force users, the Sith FAR outnumber the Jedi. Take the OR era.

Ven Zallow loses almost every battle we place him in, as well as Ken Cao Darach. Who else is in the OR era? Satele? HoT? That's about it, and even then, we place them far below the likes of Yoda or Mace Windu.

In the Book of the Sith, Sidious claims that he will never choose a successor.

The only thing I disagree with is that Sidious never intended Maul to be his successor. Rule the galaxy by his side? Of course. But Sidious had no intention of ever being overthrown.

I agree. I think if you look at a mountain range, that's a great way to describe the Banite line. Sometimes after you hit a peak, you have to go down a little valley before you get to the next peak. Sometimes those little valley's, however, can be more dangerous than climbing up the peak. Zannah was not on Bane's level as a duelist or as a raw Force user, but her sorcery was something that he had no answer for. She wasn't the peak, but the little traps in her valley helped her overcome her master. And it would probably be that way most of the time. Darth Cognus and Darth Millennial were the next 2 Sith lords, IIRC. And we know almost nothing about any of them, until we get to Tenebrous and Plagueis.

@yousufkhan1212: Just change the species up, and make Snoke actually be Plagueis. That would be perfect. It would be incredible if Sidious kept his master alive in secret, experimenting on him the way Plagueis used to do others. As hated as the prequels are, they are canon, and they shouldn't be ignored. There needs to be at least some tie-ins, and having a resurrected Plagueis as the head of a new order of Dark Siders would be awesome.
