The Street Savages

As wayward metahumans learn to develop their modest powers at Gunther Beremud’s halfway house, those that demonstrate the ideal combination of control and antisocial behavior often find themselves “graduating” into the Street Savages, a vicious gang that works as enforcers and muscle-for-hire around Gothic City. When they are not on a specific contract or assignment for their boss, they are given free reign to indulge in whatever criminal behaviors they wish, so long as none of their personal business has an adverse effect upon that of their employer.

Slag

No Caption Provided

The muscle of the group, Slag possesses enhanced strength (1-ton range), and an increased density of his body tissue, allowing him to shrug off any damage below the level of an armor-piercing round. He is equally dense mentally, being the least clever or subtle member of the group. He generally deals with problems by striking them with a heavy object until they are no longer recognizable.

Sparky

No Caption Provided

Sparky possesses low-level pyrokinetic control. He can control and manipulate an amount of fire sufficient to engulf a standard-sized automobile. As he has no ability to spontaneously create the flames, he generally carries a flame-thrower or some other form of incendiary device. He is also a bit of a pyromaniac, often going out of his way to cause unnecessary collateral damage with his creations.

Deadeye

No Caption Provided

Deadeye’s mutation gives him a very limited form of magnetic control. He is only capable of exerting enough force to manipulate a single object of five pounds or less. However, he makes the most of this ability by working as the gang’s ranged combatant, usually carrying a number of throwing knives and firearms with specialized steel ammunition. His magnetic control allows him to affect the trajectory and range of his projectiles even after they are en route to a target, making them incredibly difficult to avoid, even from behind cover. He is a bit of an obsessive perfectionist; if someone evades one of his attacks, Deadeye becomes fixated on bringing that individual down, even at the cost of ignoring more threatening or high-priority targets.

Buzzkill

No Caption Provided

Buzzkill has developed what his doctors diagnosed as an “aberrant adrenal system.” This enables him to enter a truly terrifying berserker rage, in which his strength and speed are enhanced to roughly double that of a peak human. Though he does not possess any special durability, he does heal at roughly twice the rate of a normal human, allowing him to recover quickly from the damage he inevitably takes from his manic style of fighting. He seldom speaks much when he is not raging, and generally only laughs like a complete maniac when he is raging. Despite the fact that it does not make the most efficient of weapons, he prefers to wade into battle with one of his collection of customized chainsaws.

The Wolf

No Caption Provided

The only female member of the gang (currently), the Wolf is also easily the most charismatic and intelligent, and is usually the one who calls the shots when it comes to strategy and tactics. She also has the ability to exude pheromones that will affect individuals of any gender or orientation, making her ideal for those situations that require any degree of subtlety or tact. She is also something of a sadist, frequently claiming victims with her beloved butterfly knives, whether their death or injury was necessary for the task at hand or not.

Boomer

No Caption Provided

Despite resembling a rejected extra from a Mad Max movie, Boomer is actually the gang’s techie, or rather their tech-destroyer. Boomer’s special gift is his ability to cause any mechanical or electronic device he is able to touch to suffer a catastrophic failure, making him ideal for disabling security systems or other technological impediments the gang might face. He is also a bit of a malevolent prankster, taking great joy in unnecessarily disabling cell phones, laptops, and other devices, a tendency that has earned him a lifetime ban from Beremud’s office.
