Accidentally got a bite of Jungala's hair in a battle between the two. It never properly digested, and still gives him the occasional stomach-ache. When Jungala was teleported to Earth, it brought that lock of hair with her... and Trent along with that.
Tries not to eat humans, but will if it's really necessary. They are food, after all.
