it's like nobody not battle forum experts & not even writers are ready to consider the fact that Superman can also prepare for a fight. i mean he has got a fortress of solitude with all kinds of supercomputers & stuff & crapload of alien technologies & as shown in earth one can be a genius scientist better than lex if he put his mind to it. I am waiting for the day when Superman decides to turn the tables on Batman & have his own backup plan to take out the Justice League. I promise Batman will cry.

Where did you read they have left the project? It's true they have broken up but I thought Kurtzman was still focusing on Spider-man franchise while Orci concentrated on Star Trek. I like Jeff Davis. And if they can get Nolan it will be beyond awesome,

We need someone like Gail Simone or Joe Kelly or that lady who writes Captain Marvel. I would like to say Daniel Way because I really like his Deadpool but his Thunderbolt stuff was pretty bad so I don't know if he is in the right form. Geoff Jhons or Snyder will be a dream come true but Jhons is exclusive to DC & I don't want Snyder to give up writing Batman like ever. I can't figure out why we can't have a Spectacular Spider-Man series set in Earth 616. That way Slott haters can stop bitching about it.

@darthfury78: That's not true. I have read the manga till the two year break the group takes for training. We never get to see what Luffy is thinking while Spider-Man is mostly told from Peter's point of view. I don't think he acts as a child socially, yeah sure he is awkward around his Parker Industry employees but that's because he doesn't know them, they fear him, and anyone would act like that if they woke up to find themselves a CEO one day. I think the reason Slott gets all this hate is because most fans in the previous decade started reading Spider-Man due to Sam Raimi movies or the JMS run which were all about Peter-MJ lovey dovey crap & unreasonably Hulk-like fistfights. I mean yeah we have already established that she is his one true love but it was about time she did something other than worry about when Peter will get home. Since I have actually read almost all of Spider-Man comics except for a part of the 90s run where all the series were connected to each other I find Slott's run to be more accurate to the continuity & the way the character was depicted in the 60s, 70s, & 80s. He was the first writer in a very long time to acknowledge the fact that Peter is a genius. Spider-Man has a better sense of humour than ever before(Trust me they have a long road ahead of them before they top SSM #31 pg.16). Now Spider-Man actually plans before going into a battle with a super-villain rather than jumping headfirst like Wolverine.True they don't work out like they are supposed to then again it wouldn't be Spider-Man if they did. But this shows a remarkable development in a superhero comics with 50 years of stories. I am personally glad he is going to be writing Spider-Man for a lot more years. He is a true Spider-Man fan & he totally deserves it.

I think the only bad part about this series is that I know how the story is going to end.

At the end of the day there is only one superhero we can completely relate with & that is Spider-man. So he is an icon. We can also count The Flash as it was his series that jumpstarted the silver age & made the comics modern, when all comics were closing shops & Batman was fighting unicorns.

@rixec: I never said he should be peter. but he should be spider-man. I have read all the issues till 200. And I will read the rest once this arc completes. That's not the issue here. What should be a comics about a new spider-man dealing with new enemies in a new way is comics about some guy struggling to be spider-man. And a huge fanbase? It can't perform better than ASM despite all Slott bashing that goes on & the glowing reviews it always gets because of this character's lameness.

@rixec: umm.... his own man? I think not. He's Spider-Man. He can be a normal human being. Who he is doesn't matter. Him having his own problems has got nothing to do with it. He can have his friends, girlfriends & family life. And he can take all the advice he wants from Gwen. But when he becomes Spider-Man he needs to be Spider-Man & not some lame teenager. That's the whole point. A geek who fails miserably in his personal life wears a costume & becomes this near invincible persona who can bring down mad scientists, evil industrialists & maggia bosses while making snide comments. The character has 30 issues under his belt by the same writer. It's about time to stop with the character development, side character development & learning about life as a superhero & get on with the superheroing. But that doesn't seem to be happening anytime soon and this is why the sales of this series are sliding(or at least they were before catacalysm, don't know about this new series).
