@tommy_x: I see a lot of your supposed "unpopular X-Comics opinions" to be quite popular. (At least according to my incredibly bias opinion. :P)

  • Emma x Scott >>>> Jean x Scott (So very true, Jean Grey has always been a Mary Sue/Walking Plot Device. Emma delivered more to Scott than Jean Grey ever could. The Emma x Scott is one of the best relationships in mainstream comics. I know that there's still a lot of supporters for this couple and, as far as I know, only Jean Grey fans dislike this.)
  • ANXM is garbage (The plethora of "Why are they not back in their own timeline yet?" questions that revolve around the reviews/comments about the series and the existence of this thread suggest that people are starting to see what the series truly is.)
  • AvX is garbage (The event that further deteriorated the X-men Universe! A cash-in for the success of the Avengers movie, it sacrificed the X-men franchise to further promote the Avengers' books. Uncanny Avengers? More like Wanda and the poorly chosen X-men. It's supposed goal was to make X-books and the A-books intertwine but it failed at that and, worse, made the X-men redundant.)
  • Bendis run is a forgettable waste of time and money and definitely one of the worst x-runs ever (I, along with the multitude of X-men fans, agree but the book sold... So it did it's job, sadly. It has always been part of Marvel's business strategy to use bad press to sell their products. Look at Peter Parker's marriage and Hank Pym's wife beating qualities for an example. While reading ANXM, I've noticed how many times a character shouts that the O5 should've been sent back in time already and sometimes how some of the O5 will state how everyone hates them for staying. These are all Bendis's attempts at adding fuel to the fire. People hate the idea but, hate breeds curiosity I suppose. In the end, people buy the book to see when they're actually going to go back but, in my case, I bought the book because Bendis decided to butcher Laura. I actually want to see how Hopeless, of Avengers Arena fame, handles these characters.)
  • Aaron's students are awful and Bendis' students are bland and forgettable (Come on, everyone loves Eye-Boy, Sharkgirl, Sprite, and that guy with three faces! Fan favorites all of them! Who would want Hellion, Dust, Mercury, Rockslide, Pixie and Anole when you got Eye-Boy in your team? Goldballs would totally become as cool as Nightcrawler or Colossus! Triage is definitely not a lazy Elixir rip-off and Benjamin Deeds is totally comparable to Morph from the Exiles series. Tempus is totally not a plot hole with an upskirt. And let's not forget about.... hmmm... Strange, did I miss one unforgettable-Bendis-created-student? *sarcasm*)
  • New X-Men were the last good and fleshed out student characters (Everyone wants the team to be back... I want them to be back... The world never gives me what I want! T_T)
  • If the current circumstances were better and Marvel was motivated to make X-Men really great again they should disband the X-Men and relaunch with nothing but B- and C-list X-Men characters forming a completely new X-Men team that doesn't act as teachers and only have A-list X-Men occasionally guest star (I think this deserves to be discussed in another thread if there hasn't been thread out there with this topic. I would say that there must be a team of A-list X-men with their own book and these characters are only used in this one book. The rest of the B/C-list X-men can be divided into their own teams.)
  • Exiles is one of the best x-titles ever (Definitely a classic and a must read. I was so depressed when Mimic died though. Q_Q Blink x Mimic forever!)

So... yeah. I don't even know what the point of this reply is at this point. I think I lost it after writing the first bit. Cheers!

@hopesummersforthefuture: With Iceman being gay and the rest of the team being straight women (Storm could be bisexual, at least in my fantasies :P), horny Teen Jean, aka OMG I'm Jean Grey hue hue hue, would probably hit on OMLogan after 5 issues.

@koays: I think my condition is becoming worse, I've been forcing X-books to my non-comic reading friends like an Evangelist Christian looking for new converts.

No, because if Marvel declared that, they would be forsaking one of there most powerful and popular black characters

But isn't "representing all races" better?

If marvel wants to represent more races, they should create new characters.

Or use some of the underused minority characters.

@avenger85: I agree, he does have this fascination with teenage girls. I bet he says to himself, "Back in my day, it would be okay" when looking at Jubilee, Armor, Kitty, Teen Jean, normal Jean (I think Jean was still a teenager when they first met, I could be wrong though) and others that I don't know about. Added to the fact that Logan was born at the time when girls can be married as young as 12, Old Man Logan lived in the part of lawless America ruled by the inbred Hulks. An environment that doesn't really have any social stigma against relationships with minors, since they're busy trying to stay alive.

@mark_stephen: I definitely agree with that. Its sad but (1) it is possible to make money and keep artistic and character integrity. But you are right... They seem to feel any press is good press. Which is cheap and stupid but that's the way of the Marvel world now. (2) And sadly some people will buy any and everything disguising it as support for Marvel, which is multimillion dollar company and will only respond to sales numbers. The sooner fans realize this maybe the product will improve.

(1) This is the reason why I love Vertigo, Fables and Y: The Last Man are still my favorite books of all time.

(2) Sadly, I'm one of these people. I buy everything as long as Hellion and X-23 (all of the NXM kids actually but mostly these two) makes a speaking appearance on it regardless of the quality. This is the prime reason why I bought All-New X-men TPBs and I hate those books, especially the way Bendis wrote Laura (if she turned out to be a Skrull, I won't be surprised). I decided to collect stories with these characters but I wish they are better written. In my opinion, these two haven't been written well since the end of X-Force (for Laura) and X-men Legacy (for Hellion).

@ultimatekey: Gotta admit, I don't know much about Glob, because he is Glob, and most of the things I knew about him are from his appearances in WotX, which are all bad. I also knew about him from a video about Quentin Quire made by ItsSuperEffective and he stated that Glob, along with the rest of Omega Gang, killed non-mutants but he never mentioned any of them going to jail. To honest, I hate Glob because of his big, dumb, stupid face which is enough reason to make him qualify for this category (yes, I am that superficial :P). Also, because he is Glob.

1) The character that you absolutely loathe. What is it about them that rubs you the wrong way? Their origin? Their costume? Their big, dumb, stupid face?

Glob, because he is Glob. He is a flammable pink jelly with super strength and his organs are visible. He is naked all the time and he always betrays the X-Men yet never actually gets thrown in jail even when he murdered people.

2) The character you believe to have the most useless powers. And for real, we all know Eye-scream has the worst so he doesn't frickin' count.

I don't know if dead characters count but, I pick Jazz, a man whose sole power is his blue skin. You thought turning into icecream is the worst superpower.

3) The character whose hype you just don't seem to understand. There are always gonna be the big boys and girls with mass appeal, but I'm talkin' the fan-faves that perplex you nurplex.*

The Jean Greys (aka every red-head mutant saint). See, I started reading comics when Jean Grey was dead already so I never actually found any interest on her and, frankly, I wish she would just stay dead. From what I've experience from Teen Jean, the Jean Greys just seem to be either a walking plot device or symbol of all that is good and right even though he has cheated on her husband with a Canadian midget and constantly probes her friends minds(blech!). Basically, she's a Mary Sue and who likes reading Mary Sues?

4) The most obscure character you can think of that might actually be awesome by comparison. They're in the group shots sometimes, maybe just a blob of color with ink-dot eyes in the bottom, left-hand corner...just waiting for their moment to shine bright like a diamond and make momma proud!

Eye-Boy, give him a gun and make his mouth an eye (so I won't have to suffer through that things he calls banter)

5) A character that epitomizes comic book cliches or the era of their creation. The shoulder pads, the pouches, bomber jackets, baseball caps, guns-on-guns-on-guns, disco-glitter, Jem-on-steroids 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s totally terribly tubular toons. As if!

Colossus on a leopard leotard. Nuff said!

I call this band of "X-Men" the All-New, All-Different Extraordinary Uncanny X-Men!
