I used to listen to this every day but things changed dramatically when Gamespot took over. I almost immediately found myself drifting away from the show.
I will be checking out what Tony does in the future. Gamespot needs to figure out that talent and innovation are the drivers behind successful modern websites, and they have none.
Anyone else slowly realizing the writing quality on this site sometimes =/= professional? Don't get me wrong, I love and appreciate Mat. It just feels like a book report by a bored dude who is trying to feign interest.
Not only are the grammar and phrasing stilted, but the article itself skips on capturing readers with a hook, and is not concise enough. It reads like a stream-of-consciousness recap hastily written while the show was being watched. I am not sure what the article even tried to accomplish.
Zoom crossing the world 12 times in 1 second isn't that fast. That is about 1.5x lightspeed. Now, that is FASTER THAN ANYTHING IN THE UNIVERSE... but in comics that isn't that fast. Wally is much faster.
Light travels around the world 8x in one second... so...
I am busy with work too but I could totally find a couple hours to talk comics with my bros. Something seems a little fishy, but maybe I'm just paranoid. Hope everything is okay!
Good list, but my pick for the 1 spot is Galactus (pre life bringer)
The argument is he is always starving. Fighting Celestials? Starving. Fighting tyrant? Starving. Fighting Odin? Starving. Fighting Thanos? Starving. Fighting Ego? Starving. Hit by Thor? Starving. Not only that, but apparently he can transmute anything to anything, except the energy he needs to survive which is basically just life forces of planets. He can't teleport there and needed surfer to do it more efficiently than he could. Easily the most over rated character in comics because there is always the same excuse used over and over.
Nah, there are plenty of instances when he is starving and still is formidable. (See: Thanos Imperative, wiping out several star-systems and the entire Annihilation Wave effortlessly while starving is pretty damn impressive.) His real weakness is his arrogance. He only loses or struggles in battle because he always underrates his opponents. If Galactus knows a serious fight is coming he can easily feed on several planets and fight like a beast, like in Hickman's F4 run when he took on 4 universal-level Celestials at once and ended up killing 2-3 of them during that arc. He has punked Odin and OK Thor with the OF before... He is clearly well above Skyfather or Herald in his own tier...
Please, let's have a good discussion here, I would like to see what your opinion is of his high-end feats, which put him at a VERY high level... basically AFR-tier. Are you saying Galactus is below that level?
Superman is definitely not the 3rd most overrated person here... though he is overrated for the most part.
EDIT: I also think I am one of those people who overrate Hyperion a bit. His whole surviving dual-universal destruction and holding apart 2 universes for a while during New Avengers really made me think he was supposed to be some new near-omnipotent being.
