Bitter Lover 0

Hmm, a tale from millenia ago, told by a bitter lover...now, I have some mixed opinions on this comic. First off, you would think I would absolutely love it being the Purgatori fanboy that I am and with Lucifer in it, well that would just be an added bonus, but it is not so. Though the main drawback is actually the art, I just found it was not up to the greatest of standards and it really was a letdown, as for the story, the story was amazing, truly a great story, but once again it was lacking, ...

Frickin' Amazing!!! 0

Okay, I know this is so totally out of order since I have technically only reviewed the first four issues, but this issue is amazing!! One of the greatest I have ever read in my entire life, if I could give it six stars I would!!! Now...trying to calm down, let me explain this all to you, besides some of my fellow nuts out there who love Sandman and The Endless, I doubt anyone else will find this issue quite so fascinating as I did, but that's your/their problem, frankly if you don't like it, I ...

As CaptHowdy said before me, this is "a nice little story". Nothing special, nothing horrific, it is just a nice little story, a nice one-shot that you should read, read and not have to worry about any other issue's in the series. It is a story about a man who played a video game, the Hex Box, and he mastered it, won the game, only to discover it was not just a game for in fact he released all the "digital demons" upon the earth and became compelled to spend his years defeating them all over aga...

Now, I'm not going to lie, this comic is...different...yet the same...truthfully it is no different from your "typical" Tarot issue, but my feelings towards it are different. I absolutely loved this issue, and I admit, there was no story, it was just a blood-filled orgy of Raven Hex and her deformed clones/children. But at the same time, there was a story, it was seeing Raven back to her dark self, getting to see the evil that made her such an amazing character back in the early issues of the se...

This has to be one of my favorite issues in the Tarot series, I couldn't say why as truthfully I don't really know, but I do know I did enjoy it. The truth is, it probably had something to do with the darker tone of the book, something I enjoy reminiscing about in this comic, the days when it was a dark fantasy filled with some attractive females and some erotic poses.Personally my favorite tale told in this issue and one of my favorite tales overall, is that of Willowry and Brandi, although I h...

Action-Packed!! 0

Sometimes I feel like this comic never slows down, I mean sure there is a lot of talking, a lot of history, but at the same time, its always combined with action and its not even bad action either, its perfect! The comic starts off with a defense outpost being completely slaughtered by the most interesting band of villains I've ever seen, ranging from Brass Demur, a giant crushing people with one hand to the nameless babe with a striking similarity to Monika, how could you not love a comic after...

Drizzt At His Best!! 0

Okay, so after reading Homeland, Exile, Sojourn, The Crystal Shard, Streams of Silver and Halfling's Gem I have read some of the greatest writing of any comic books ever but this, this is so far my favorite book in the Drizzt series, utterly amazing!! I'm not going to say it was necessarily the best writing of all the books, though best art I could argue...its just that this issue brings about so many amazing changes in the series, twists and turns I NEVER anticipated but that I absolutely love....

Nikolaos is Amazing! 0

So, I finally got to buying some Anita Blake books and have read Guilty Pleasures so far and must say, the two are EXACTLY identical, word for word, event for event, except this has the added benefit of having pictures! Oh, and just so its clear, I loved the book so its pretty obvious I'd love the book with amazing art added and no downsides, isn't it? Well, anyways, back on topic, like I said the art was amazing, as was the story, from the battle of the rat-men, to the sarcastic joking of a fri...

I have to say I actually loved this issue, sure I usually do complain about this series' use of nudity and I assure you there was a lot of nudity and fetishes played upon in this issue but in the end I have no complaints about it cause in a way it actually fit well with the story seeing as the majority of the scenes were torture scenes and I mean seriously, if you were torturing a very attractive woman, would you keep her clothed? If you answer yes...DO NOT PICK UP THIS COMIC!!If you say you wou...

A New Course for the Series Begins 0

Yet another drama-filled tale of the Frost family filled with deceit, anger and huge changes in the family that will lead to quite a different future than one might expect at the beginning of the issue. And even though all the issues before this had a similar concept, it never gets old, and I still am in love with Miss Frost after reading this series, I truly believe it is here that she's at her best. Now of course, the big characters in this issue were Emma, Winston and Christian, Emma growing t...

Now, I can't actually say why I like this issue at all, cause I really don't know but for some reason I have always enjoyed it. The two stories in this issue are Tarot's story and Jon's...now to start off Jon's is of little consequence or importance but it simply shows us how much Raven hates him as she sends her dragon witches to kill him, it looked cool but overall it wouldn't have changed anything for me if it wasn't there. However, Tarot's story is a lot more interesting, for she is dead and...

Okay, I decided I should get to finishing these reviews on all the Tarot issues, so here's yet another one of my beloved reviews of a comic that nobody supports. Anyways, I have to start off by saying that, at least up until the last few panels this issue is meant to be lighthearted and humorous and it is why I enjoy this issue, cause the humor is actually good in my opinion.Basically the plot of the story is Jon taking Tarot, her sister and mother all out to Hawaii so he can finally propose to ...

Loved It! 2

Okay, first off, I must say that I read this comic not because I had read the book before or for that matter because I usually read these style of comics at all but because someone suggested it to me and the comic did not disappoint. In fact, I enjoyed the comic so much I really want to read the book as well now.The story itself was quite interesting, I admit I don't have much of a taste for male vampire strippers but still the story interested me, I loved how throughout the comic you always get...

Now this issue of the comic I am a little divided upon, for one I dislike it for the reason there is no real plot to the issue as the basis of it is Jon giving Raven a bath cause she can't with her injuries and him feeling very awkward about it. Admittedly this ends up in several humorous events which is why I enjoy this issue but I am going to admit, not many likely share my taste of humor in this issue, so I will explain why I love it. You see, I always enjoyed Jon as a character and the fact ...

This has to be one of my favorite issues in the Tarot series, first off I will give a forewarning that although there is nudity in this issue, in my opinion it is all tasteful and fits well with the story. However, that is not the reason I love this issue so much, I love this issue because it is really a darker story, one of my favorite things about Tarot is the darker themes, the more villainous villains, something that disappears in time yet is still preserved in this early issue. Here we get ...

This issue, is really making me wonder what's in store for the rest of the series, after this issue's events I am beginning to anticipate a great many things but have no idea what is going to happen...which is why I want to keep reading. First of all, Michael seems to be plotting to go against God's will and wage war against Lucifer which would be an awesome battle in my opinion. And Elaine is about to be killed by some sort of demon impersonating her father, and I wonder if perhaps Lucifer will...

The majority of the comic was rather mediocre, the gathering of the witches was far less exciting then I expected and though there was some interesting drama all together, I guess I felt it could have had more of a prominent role, and the ending...I mean I know its setting things up for a great story arc, but I would prefer we not find out the one behind everything until closer to the end or something. Anyway, to cover the attacks, I liked Skeleton Man meeting the creature that once haunted his ...

This issue was a fantastic installment in the volume and though personally not what of my favorites in the four issue story arc it was a good issue nonetheless. I enjoyed the start of the issue tho, with Raven Hex and the blood covering her body, it brings back good memories of issue three, ah the foolish men of this world. Anyway, I enjoyed the resurrecting of Tarot's Father and then subsequent destruction and the terror Raven brought upon the city, even the sacrifice of their mother was a grea...

Well, I guess its time for yet another Tarot review and I must say this is one of those poor comics that in my opinion, ruin the reputation for such a great comic. I'm sorry but I didn't find this issue really enjoyable much at all, first off the story was lame: Tarot saving a child from the "Boogey Man" and then facing religious intolerance. It just wasn't much of anything at all and this time I didn't even understand why she stripped naked when she fought...I always thought the armor was there...

Perfect Conclusion 0

This issue was an awesome conclusion to the Exile story arc and I have to say, each character's role was completely awesome in this issue (except maybe Drizzt, but by being the main character in an awesome comic, I think he's done his part). Anyway, I had to say after reading this comic that the art seemed to be exceptionally phenomenal in this issue and if you can't read, at least look at the comic for its pictures. Now for me to explain what made each character so interesting to me this issue, ...

I Love this Series! 0

Well, I finally got to read Issue 2 of this awesome series and was not disappointed, I am really loving this series and think EVERYONE should read it. First off, I enjoyed this little intro to "The Garrison", it was a nice little story and it makes me wonder of things to come and I am really wanting to see this legendary swordsman in action. Another high point was the attack on Calibretto and Gully, and seeing the gloves in action, it was spectacular, the sight of watching a little girl murder a...

Despite the fact, that I enjoyed the comic I will not give it four or more stars because it was not really a perfect comic and should not be seen as such. It is not like the comic was one of those, "must-pick up issues that only a loser has never read", no it was just a good comic to me cause even though the story was a little childish it was entertaining and that's what I now look for in this series, entertainment. I also will not give this three stars or less because, even though it had more n...

Emma the Psychic 0

This issue is awesome, the Frost family is just so intriguing and thanks to Emma's powers we get an even deeper look into their lives providing for an awesome issue. It is is in this comic that we actually see something about Emma that almost makes her seem to be the best role model in the family...a surprise from the Emma we all know now. There's her sisters, the one who is constantly high and the other who models against her father's wishes, then her brother who we learn is homosexual, another ...

Teenage Drama 0

This comic is mainly just a focus on the life of a troubled teen but at the same time it is quite enjoyable. Main themes in her life include watching her police officer get shot, her habit of smoking, her boundless anger and the mocking of her best friend Kara. However it is in this comic that her life completely changes when she gets pissed off by a gang leader, Hector and then attacks him. This causes him to promise her that she is dead, the two emerge from the infirmary/counseling centers bef...

Awesome Climax! 1

Though my expansion into the comic book world has lowered this book down a star as I have read other comics of equal or greater magnitude and personally I don't really enjoy the art of this issue, I must say it is still really good and an awesome conclusion to The Crystal Shard.I enjoyed all the warfare, mythical battles are always my favorites, especially when magic gets involved and brings the fight to a whole new level. Drizzt and Akar's showdown was my favorite point in the issue though and ...

My Love for Tarot Finally Gone? When I read this issue I sincerely question myself how I ever loved or even read this series, and I have to say all joy in reading it has faded though I do like this new art. This comic had absolutely no value and nothing to interest anyone, at least no one with similar thought processes to myself. The only reason I am even still with the series is because I don't quit a series in the middle. This comic has a story, something the series usually lacks but this story j...

First of Many? 0

So how was the first issue of the comic book series with the most issue in existence you may ask? Well, first off its black and white and secondly its an anthology and futuristic. The first story, Invasion, makes it obvious this is a British comic as it tells the story of Britain being taken over by the Volgs. However, the mass slaughter is just the beginning, the real action begins when an ordinary man, Bill Savage wages his own war against the Volgs to fight for Britain (which had already surr...

This issue was nearly perfect! It almost fits in with the original storyline, a tale of fantasy and magic. Once again a war of mystics will begin and I am really excited to see it play out. And to make the issue even better, it combined its teasing along with a real story. This Azure character at first seemed to be nothing more than some lonely loser to me, but he's starting to already improve in my eyes. In fact, I have nothing but idolization for the elf when I learn that he won Raven Hex over ...

This Story is Awesome! 2

Okay, I seriously can't believe I hadn't read this series before and I pity anyone who hasn't. This series is just completely awesome, though it has relatively little hardcore action and fighting it is the story itself that is so appealing. This story brings to a conclusion Emma's interaction with Matilda (her enemy) and Ian (her teacher/lover). In this issue, Emma expresses her interest to become a teacher but Winston is appalled...however, Ian tells her she could even be a Headmistress. So it is...

Sinister Origins 0

First off, this isn't actually an origin story of Mr. Sinister but it does explain some of his past. It also explains some of his relationships and first encounters with other heroes and villains from the past including Namor, Captain America and Scalphunter.I personally love Sinister and so any issue focusing on him will be a favorite in my book, but honestly, in my opinion this issue was awesome. Some of my favorite scenes in the comic included when the unexpected happened: such as Captain Amer...

Emma the Mutant 0

I have become hooked on this series, I have to say that to my surprise this is quickly becoming a favorite comic book series of mine as I do quite enjoy the Frost family behind the scenes, especially Emma.I quite enjoy knowing what life as a young woman was for Emma and what her manifestation was like. The fact that she lied to everyone, even those she loved just proves to me how much humanity is expected to hate those that are different because of past reputation. At the same time, I enjoyed Emm...

Yes, the golden days of the Tarot comic, a time when the comics actually possessed an epic story and at the same time some beautiful women. I highly enjoyed the rivalry between sisters expressed in this comic as unfortunately I already know it does not last. And the great levels of power seen through the use of magic shall also be forgotten, so I say that this comic should be treasured in the series, it is one of the few really good stories and from which the capabilities of Tarot should be taken...

In this issue, the origins of the main characters are given to the reader and in my opinion the origin stories themselves were very interesting let alone the story they were within. The main story revolves around Skeleton Man getting to know Tarot, as their relationship begins, a relationship that will become something a lot more intimate in time.Tarot tells of her family history, explaining the motives of her sister and often saying that witches are not like they are often portrayed...something ...

Life on the Run 0

The first issue of Volume II in the Legend of Drizzt and I assure you, I was not disappointed. Now I will begin to list the main events in the story and why I enjoyed them.First off, it is here that we first meet The Hunter, Drizzt's alter-ego that lives for one sole purpose to kill. I enjoyed this A LOT because Drizzt is usually seen as the most gentle of the Drow yet when he becomes the Hunter he is more ruthless than the rest of his race. Then there is the new character of the issue, Jarlaxle,...

As the first issue of the series, the warning is at its weakest right now as this issue is still basically kid-friendly (at least compared to the gore and nudity in later issues).I enjoyed the art, and the characters in this issue and though the fast and seemingly meaningless introductions caught me offguard at first I have since learnt that few characters are even officially named in the series. However, this issue is a great story of fantastical events and revolves around the mysterious world o...

The Best of Drizzt? 0

To me, this volume in the Legend of Drizzt series is possibly the best chapter of them all. However, that is because it focused on the type of story themes that I enjoy. It told a tale of fantasy, a man fighting his inner beast while on the run...running from the one who he feels loves him, his own father.I enjoyed the tales of him and his short-lived companions Belwar and Clacker.Perhaps my favorite part of the story (minus Zaknafein vs. Drizzt) was when the group was captured by the Illithids, ...

I really enjoyed this edition to the 52 series, as in this one the story focused around one of my favorite anti-heroes, Black Adam, and shows how he hopes to reshape the world. The developments involving Steel and Lex Luthor were not so interesting, but simply make you wonder what there future meetings will involve. However, back to Black Adam, throughout the issue the reader wonders what side he really fights for, whether at the point where he threatens Power Girl's life as she tries to bring Ter...

The Conclusion of Homeland 0

This book was an awesome addition to the Legend of Drizzt series and I must say it gives you a much deeper look into some of the characters, mainly Drizzt and his father Zaknafein.First off this tale is mainly focused on the "family" of House Do'Urden and how Drizzt and Zaknafein appear to be the only "pure-hearted" members of the family, in fact of the race.Though the two begin with distrust by the end they once again have the perfect relationship. Perfect enough that Zaknafein gives up his lif...

I only learned, a few days ago, in English class what the word Sojourn means and now that I know it I realize it does sum up the entire volume. This entire volume is interesting but it is ever-changing as it tells of Drizzt's first attempts at friendship on the surface world.
