No, Aquaman just impales Hercules through the face faster than Hercules can fight back. No one has given an argument on how Hercules wins other than they think Hercules is stronger.
Hercules doesn't have the durability feats to defend against Aquaman's trident, doesn't have Aquaman's speed feats, doesn't have the same reach that Aquaman has with his trident, fights high tiers regularly and is supported by guide entries, in-verse statements, and WoG interviews. How exactly is Hercules countering Aquaman's speed and trident at the most basic level of this fight? He isn't one-shotting Arthur if he does get a hit in because Aquaman has been shown too durable for that.
In addition to that, Hercules needs to be able to counter Aquaman's magical and psychic abilities. Here's how the fight between Arthur and DC Hercules ended...

Aquaman punched Hercules from the shore of one side of the island over the island and into the ocean, and leaped over the island after him. From there Hercules was trying to figure out what kind of god Aquaman is and figured it out as Arthur summoned a couple of giant squids for support before beating Hercules into unconsciousness.
DC and Marvel Hercules both share the same feat of holding up the heavens for Atlas as their most impressive feat of strength.
For context, Aquaman had been fighting an army of Giantborn before Hercules showed up, Arthur and Hercules were well-matched on land (including busting a mountain while wrestling each other) before Arthur tricked Hercules into taking him to the water, and Hercules had been driven insane by the Giantborn while they were all imprisoned in another dimension. That resulted in Hercules not holding back while Arthur was holding back.
This is also the god of strength in DC and the patron god granting Shazam his strength for scaling. Taking that comparison a step further...

Brutus could easily toss Black Adam around, Aquaman could hold Brutus stationary by the throat similarly to how Brutus was holding Adam. When Brutus energy blasted Aquaman away he fled, Hawkgirl smacked him back into the water, and Aquaman outperformed Adam against Brutus.
Aquaman has had fights at super speed with Superman.

Aquaman can speed in faster than atlantean technology can detect his presence or movement. This is an example of impaling from speed blitz.
This fight is a brick (Hercules) fighting a faster brick (Aquaman) with a brick busting weapon (trident). The island means Aquaman can summon sea monsters for assistance, and he can make better use of the hydrokinetic properties of the trident before going into any exotic abilities he has.
What is your argument for how Hercules wins here?
