Obviously, I'll wait until I read the first issue (or at least the previews) of the official runs before I make any big judgments. Given Superman is one of DC's biggest characters, I'm assuming they'll have Bendis paired with editors who will have him on some kind of a leash.

The only thing I really question is why put Bendis on both Superman and Action Comics? It just feels unnecessary and a bit redundant. I'm glad that from the sound of it both books will still be about different aspects of Superman's life, like they are now, but I feel like having the same author on both books will limit the perspective that can be given. I'm also hoping that people won't have to buy both comics regularly just to follow any storyline in one of them.

Apparently, he's doing something with Scott Snyder.

From the phrasing of Scott's tweet it's hard to tell whether he means working with him personally or just alongside him in the same company. Though I've heard that Scott might have plans for Zatanna and/or the Martian Manhunter after he's done with Metal, so maybe that has something to do with it.

Scott's tweet: "Getting to work along side @brianmbendis is yet another comic dream realized this year. Brian, you're going to slay! Cannot wait!"

I've been saying this since the day I joined the Vine.

Geoff Johns is a hack. The only character he seems to sometimes get right is Superman. He has no reverence for any material that has come before him. Most of his story arcs fall apart in the second or third act.

What about Green Lantern?

@aros001:

"While the totalitarians stand their ground, covering their eyes, preaching for a return to a rose colored republic. Unaware that for those not like them, the good old days weren't so good." Yeah, that kind of sounds like a liberal view to me. Sure, he attacks the liberal side first, but Rorschach previously stated that he missed the way things were before in the U.S.

It looks like they're trying to make Rorschach a neutral voice, when his P.O.V was never meant to be that way. In fact, I bet Rorschach would have been a Trump supporter. lol

I do have a theory actually that could make this change work though, that the Rorschach we see is not the original one from Watchmen but instead a new one who has taken up his mantle (which would fit with how DC does things). This new one being more liberal while the original was more conservative could also work in a very interesting way, where this newcomer is taking what he liked about Rorschach but twisting it to fit his own beliefs.

When the hell did Rorschach turn into a liberal? Moore straight up stated that Rorschach was supposed to be a right wing fascist.

What did he say to make you think he's a liberal?

For those wondering, Mister Miracle's wife, Big Barda, is a big part of the series

That's all I wanted to know, thanks.

No kidding. After the New 52 practically refused to let anyone have steady relationships, it's nice to see couples again that go beyond just being f**k-buddies.

The recent SJW parade we saw marching through comics was anti-romance. See, romance is (to use an SJW term) a "heteronormative" thing, so DC and Marvel couldn't let heterosexuality appear normal, despite the (vast) majority of the population being heterosexual. The result has been a lack of romance in comics which tends to ruin stories since nearly every great action/adventure story has romance; Robin Hood had Maid Marian, Indiana Jones had numerous women, Han Solo had Princess Lea, Superman had Lois, Spiderman had Mary Jane.

I greatly disagree that the anti-romance and anti-marriage waves were because of SJW pandering. They didn't get rid of Spider-Man's and Superman's marriage because they weren't gay enough to be interesting. They got rid of the marriages because the companies wanted to stagnate the characters's histories and keep them as marketable as possible, and what's more marketable that being able to ship Spider-Man and Superman with random hot characters other than their longtime loves?

Plus the SJW argument doesn't really work when DC wasn't going to let Batwoman, their big name lesbian superhero, get married either for the same reasons they weren't going to let Clark and Lois or Arthur and Mera be married.

Glad it's an elseworlds but oh god, this isn't going to be like JLA: Act of God is it? Where every hero who had powers became practically helpless without them and saw no reason to go on as the people they were until Batman/Bat-God showed them the way? The story where Superman became a depressed drunk and Wonder Woman, who has met the Greek Gods, contemplated suicide because the Christian god wasn't answering her prayers?

Damn, I most definitely did not expect this. I am actually looking forward to this issue, it was actually a pretty good preview, but as I know King - offers a good preview but after the first few pages it all falls apart.

Is King the writer for the entire 4-part story or just the Batman issues?
