" I was disappointed with the conclusion. It answered no questions about Hope, and events were poorly explained and depicted throughout the issue. This was a bit of a shock, as X-Force has been awesome with these things so far. The whole Kiden thing could have been circumvented completely, and the way they show them traveling in space so that they'll be closer to the Legacy Virus-infected kids before taking off their time machines made things exceptionally confusing, even for time-travel. It was extremely anti-climactic, with Cable just blindly jumping into the future again, and Bishop surviving, basically returning things to the status quo of Messiah Complex, save that Hope has aged. The fight with Apocalypse and Stryfe was badass, but again, the whole mixed messages of "I am now new", and "As if strength could come from without" from Apocalypse, then his abrupt turn around to claim Stryfe as a host (despite him saying he was going to kill him for being too weak a couple pages earlier) was off-putting. Both Apocalypse and Stryfe were portrayed several miles to the left of in-character. As I said, it was extremely anti-climactic, with Laura persevering down some random street for no reason, then Bishop starting back at square one... Overall, it was an entertaining issue I guess, but I expected a whole lot more. "
Took the words right out of my mouth. This arc accomplished little to nothing. As soon as X-Force returns to the present and saves Boom Boom, Surge, and Hellion, this story will be rendered virtually obsolete. What a waste of time.
" Merely read about it through other sources. The majority of the original New Mutants run came out before I was even born. I haven't had any time to pick them up in order to catch up to be honest. Therefore, I'll admit I may be grossly underestimating his stint there. However, how often is Legion's name brought up in this forum? How often is Legion compared to the other extremely powerful mutants in the Marvel U? Since he is not shown the respect he deserves, I believe Legion is underrated. "
Honestly, i believe myself and maybe 2 other viners are hardcore New Mutants fans, so i woudn't base anything on what others say around this site. I think the problem with Legion is that he's so dated. I wasn't alive or even planned when the New Mutants had their first run, and he hasn't had shown up again until recently in the latest issues of New Mutants, so he's growing, he'll be getting those fans, but i don't by any means find him underrated. Everyone that came into contact with him knew his power levels. "
This site is honestly one of the few connections I have with the comic community, so I tend to rely on what individuals say on this site to be a reflection of the community as a whole. Yes, Legion is quite dated. Besides his stint in New Mutants, Legion Quest occurred at the end of 1994/beginning of 1995 and the end of Age of Apocalypse occurred around June of 95. So, he hasn't been around since mid-1995. I'm glad they brought him back for the new New Mutants series, and I am looking forward to see what they do with him. I still feel like he is underrated, but am glad to know that there are other comic readers that respect his power levels.

how is Legion, the creator of the Age of Apocalypse, underrated? "
Where do I start? I'm well aware that Legion's actions led to the Age of Apocalypse, but it was not his powers that created the alternate timeline. Legion, also, played little to no role in the actual Age of Apocalypse storyline, only appearing in X-Men: Omega. Besides the Legion Quest arc leading up to the Age of Apocalypse, Legion had little effect on the Marvel universe or within the X titles. For God's sake, he was in a coma for the majority of his existance! Yes, he led to the death of Destiny, but even then he was under the influence of the Shadow King. Legion is an extremely powerful mutant who finally showed his true potential in Legion Quest, but was then killed at the end of the following story arc. If used correctly, he has the potential to, easily, be one of the most powerful mutants to ever grace the pages of a Marvel comic. However, nobody views him in this light because he comes and goes far too quickly in the Marvel universe. I imagine only the most ardent comic book readers know of Legion's power. It is the aforementioned factors that lead me to believe Legion is both underrated and underestimated.
