Cool list, overall. I disagree with some rankings but it's very sensible and considers basically everyone relevant for me. Also great analysis and reasoning for each of them.

Harry Potter characters can be both overrated and underrated IMO. More often than not they're been overrated against comic-book characters and underrated against other live action characters - particularly regarding their speed and power. I guess this makes sense though, given that most LA characters are overrated by default if we're being honest.

Nice. I was actually unaware that Crossbones qualified as an assassin.

The characters in this category are always some of the coolest and most intriguting.

@rebake:

I just saw your post. A few things more; I didn't say Steve would never tag Widow, that's not what I mean at all. But their fight showed that she can dodge him out and land hits before he can, and if she really did want to use more lethal options in those openings she achieved, she could have won. I don't know why we should assume Cap was holding back more than she was, this just becomes he circular argument that begins with the baseline that he's superior. His speed and skill, which is what's needed to tag her, would not be hintered. Because, well, it's pretty standard. He wouldn't be moving slower intentionally. We saw that he's willing to tag her in the same scene.

You're right. Hawkeye would have never won against T'Challa in that scenario, I didn't mean that by "a challenge". He did challenge him, he got him in a good position and he prevented a quick loss. Just like with that, I would say that Cap did challenge Ultron, because he got solid hits in, defended against him etc. A challenge doesn't necessarily mean you're ever going to win, more like a solid exchange and a pretty good fight.

How did Rogers do better against Glaive than Romanoff did against Midnight? They both lasted the same amount of time 1 on 1, they forced their opponents on the defensive and disarmed them before getting overpowered. I'd say the only difference is that Widow was fighting a more dangerous opponent in Proxima. Would I argue she'd beat Steve in melee with her staff and his vibranium shields alone in the equation? No, I think she needs more than that, but she'd surely give him a good run for his money.

The point of this thread was to say that character X cannot just take out character Y without any effort or time whatsoever. I definitely disagree with the notion that Super Soldiers are a tier above highily skilled peak humans in armed combat.
