A lot of people seem to be bandwagoning the idea that every negative review is just from critics being "too PC", so I'd just like to point out the metacritic page. I don't see anyone upset over the actor being white in any of these reviews. In fact, they seem to love the casting.

What do seem to come up consistently are complaints about the pacing, story progression, and the plot.

Not to say that there aren't some outlets crying "white wash", but let's not be silly here. That is absolutely not where the core reviews are coming from.

Why is Colleen on one of the variants? Is she supposed to be featured in this or is that tying into something else?

If only there were some experts in time travel, clairvoyance, time alteration, paradoxes, or self-fulfilling prophecies that Thor could consult for advice. Too bad there aren't any such experts in the MCU.

Can someone please tell Marvel that poking fun of their Spider-Man teams' lack of creatively doesn't somehow excuse it? Why do they keep trying to draw from the same Spider-clone well every single time? It's like they're constantly telling the same joke at a party and not realizing that we're laughing at them, not with them.

please marvel give jessica her old costume

Really? But that outfit was pretty poor, all things considered. Just because it's "classic" doesn't mean it was actually good, and it doesn't suit her now that her missions usually focus on her being relatively inconspicuous in public places.

If she goes by a different name (which I think is best) by don't they just call the comic that. I think Iron Heart is a good name. Also would prefer if the suit looked a bit junky like something thrown together with spare parts

I like Ironheart as well, but it's not a name that would sell comics alone. Until today, I'd forgotten what her name actually was, and if I had been walking through a store and say "Ironheart", or read it on an upcoming titles list, I wouldn't have given it a second thought. It's a good name, but it's not recognizable yet. I imagine they'll leave it like this until she gets a second series where they'll call it "The [Adjective] Ironheart".

Also, I'm pretty sure the armor in the final image is the one she actually made with spare parts, and it does look like she kind of duct taped some old washers and dryers together. The armor on the cover is one she made with Stark resources.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned how this episode completely contradicts the events of the Season 1 finale. In that episode, Barry goes back in time to the point where his mother dies, only to find that the Barry currently fighting Reverse-Flash already knows what he's there to do (save Nora) and motions him to stop, implying that things would be better this way.

That Barry should be the ultimate "Barry" (the one that disappeared from Reverse-Flash's original time while fighting alongside the JSA).

It's never explained why that Barry isn't there when present Barry goes back in time at the end of the last season. On top of that, the encounter at the end of season 1 implies that Barry can't change the timeline because any event he could change would have already been changed. I.e. going back in time to fight Reverse-Flash, but realizing that he's already living the results of that decision.

Is there any chance that they'll significantly tone down the camp now that it's on the CW? I tried several times to get into this series, but the hammy dialogue and plots resolving "way better than expected" pushed me away.

@mrnoital: Just because they haven't revealed it yet doesn't mean that they won't or that they don't have it planned out. Who the hell are you, me, or anyone else that isn't Jason Aaron or Marvel to claim to know what is in store for the character? I, personally, am fine with keeping it a mystery for a while and making it part of the larger story. Let it be told how it'll be told.

Readers capable of making informed guesses based off previous evidence?

The larger story was Thors' identity. It's Jane. Haha, very funny, Marvel! Now, tell us what Fury said! It's not a mystery or part of the story anymore. At this point, it's a plot device that has yet to be explained, and going with how Marvel typically does things, it likely won't be addressed for another 2 years, where it will be even less relevant when Thor (Odinson) is an Avenger again.

And they're never going to explain it, because it never meant anything. It was just an asspull that they wanted to wrap vaguely Lovecraftian connotations around. Basically, Nick Fury was saying that he's see so much crazy nonsense that it could warp someone's sense of being. They imply that Uatu wanted to die because of the same reason. Nick's whisper was essentially some "eldritch truth" that would corrupt a person simply by hearing it. It's unlikely Thor can even remember exactly what it was, let alone repeat the phrase.

And that's giving Marvel the benefit of the doubt that they wanted the whisper to be symbolic of something, which could easily just be me reading more into it than they deserve. It could easily just be some random bullshit they threw together as a means to keep Thor from making that final Original Sin battle extremely short.

Is this supposed to retcon the whole "Joker is an immortal neanderthal" thing from his last appearance?
