Durability/Defenses:

Samus receives a gunship transmission translating a telepathic intercept, despite Samus not having been effected by the telepathic message, possibly showing immunity to telepathy.

7:55

Samus sustains 30 damage from Gorea’s life drain and 30 damage from being slammed downward, despite it being capable of draining the six hunters, presumably dealing 199 damage to each hunter, showing that Samus at the time could resist the energy drain.

8:02

Gorea is capable of picking up five trocras with what appears to be telekinesis, but appears unable to influence Samus with the same ability.

“Varia Suit

Reduces the damage suffered from enemy attacks. Nullifies damage from high and low temperatures.”

Samus has greater defenses and can withstand extreme temperatures.

“Gravity Suit

Further reduces damage from enemy attacks. Allows for normal movement in aquatic and other areas. Also protects Samus from lava.”

The Gravity Suit allows Samus freedom from passive impediments to her movement, has greater defenses, and can withstand lava.

4:46

Samus, with only the Fusion suit, can take a hit from the B.O.X., despite it being capable of tearing through a wall.

5:17

Samus, with only the Fusion suit, is unharmed by falling debris.

7:49

The blue X can freeze Samus from within until she acquires the Varia Suit. However,

Samus can operate fine after being frozen, suggesting that the suit protects her from internal damage.

Samus, despite the SA-X’s wave ice plasma beam going through her, is able to run past the SA-X after thawing, suggesting again that the suit protects her from attacks that attack her internally.

Samus is unharmed by physically contacting a Metroid, presumably because her Metroid cells prevent energy draining.

After regaining her suit from the SA-X, Samus is able to take a swipe of the Omega Metroid, despite it previously one-shotting and incapacitating both Samus and the SA-X.

6:14

Samus, despite being corrupted by Phazon so as to be unable to use her ship and being on Phaaze, is not mentally controlled by Dark Samus or Phazon. Her suit also does not fall under Dark Samus and Phazon’s influence over machinery. The mechanical Elysians described this process as such:

SkyTown Data: Defeat

Logbook entry

“Like the Aurora Unit, we too were infected with a Phazon-based virus. The spreading corruption consumed many of us, putting us under Space Pirate control. It was not long before only a handful of us remained.

During this time there was but a moment that we received aid. Ghor, the Hunter dispatched by the Federation, arrived there to restore the Aurora Unit. Our hope quickly vanished as he too was corrupted by Phazon and lost his own will.”

Thus, Phazon corruption had put under its control the organic Aurora Unit, the sentient Elysians, and the hunter Ghor.

Samus, while being injured by Dark Aether’s atmosphere, does not fall under the control of the Ing, and her suit remains under her control as well, though some upgrades are stolen. The Ing's abilities were described by the Luminoth:

The New Terror

Logbook entry

“In time, the Ing began to possess Luminoth as well as creatures. Friends and family members became the enemy, spilling Luminoth blood across the land. Desperate, we devised shielding to prevent Ing possession. It was effective, but not perfect.”

Sanctuary Falls

Logbook entry

“Wave after wave of Ing assaulted the greatest of our fortresses, with one goal in mind: to seize the energy there. The Ing turned the machines of Sanctuary against our warriors, and soon all was lost. The energy of Sanctuary was taken by the Ing.”

Samus is unaffected by Phantoon’s portals, and considering that he was trying to defeat Samus, the fact that he was unable to teleport Samus herself also indicates resistance to unwanted dimensional manipulation.
