Nah West Coast was a different era, that was Stern's baby and if you pick up the old issues the writing was totally different
We are in a different era today, more drama, flash, random nonsense and gore. Bendis and Geoff Johns are silverage obsessive and too busy pulling pages from other people's books, Moore already accused Blackest Night of Plagiarism I doubt that's true but I also doubt Blackest Night was very original and its starting to go flat. Bendis ruined Avengers, Siege is all Flash and Gore but no substance and both companies are starting to mirror each other  with Brightest Heroic Age directions.  Glad to see Doctor Voodoo is sticking around and it should be good to have top writers like Kurt Busiek and Paul Cornell. Cornell is a top writer and Busiek is great for a continuation of the classic story

Somebody said you also got Ares and Sentry? I hoped Bob would have died off during Siege, seems like Bendis wants the mess he made to stay around and stink up the next story arc?

That is the cover to a comic book encyclopedia volume set coming in May 2010. It is NOT the Avengers!
Why would Iron Patriot be on the same team as Captain America anyways?

Luke Cage is gonna lead the Thunderbolts in the Heroic Age.
The people on the comic cover aren't one team, they are five different teams with people from each team representing them in the comic series.
The Gorrila is an Agent of Atlas
Hawkeye and I hope Hank Pym are representing the Avengers
Luke Cage is gonna be the new leader of the thunderbolts
And I'm not really sure about Mockingbird and Black Widow

Confirmed Charcters:
Captain America ( Bucky )
Iron Man
Thor
Hawkeye ( Clint Barton )
Spider Woman
Wolverine
Spider Man

Charcters I would like to see on the team:
Hank Pym

I REALLY hate that they put Spider Man on the team. He never appreciated the chance to be on the New Avengers team and he JUST decided to join after they asked him AT LEAST 5 TIMES BEFORE!
I don't care for Wolverine on the team since he is already apart of the Xmen and other groups, though he makes a good Avenger. The difference between Spidey and Wolverine is that Spider Man is to immature.
Wolverine is a Bad @$$ who takes his job seriously. Plus  Wolverine actually appreciates that he is on the team.

For the Enter the heroic age  thing, It said on Marvel.com that these were people from five different teams.
My theory is that:
Gorilla Man will be apart of the Agents of Atlas series.
Luke Cage is leading the Thunderbolts
Hawkeye will be apart of the Avengers

I'm not sure about the next few but I think
Black Widow will be apart of some new type of Organization like SHIELD and HAMMER
Mockingbird will be apart of some sort of women hero group
and Hank Pym will be apart of the Avengers.
Would  Bendis really throw this origanal Avenger off the team?
