The seeds are being planted for the "Divided We Fall" event in the Ultimate Marvel Universe as we see the Ultimates on the losing side of the conflict, we see desperate measures taken and things keep falling apart for the US Government and SHIELD under Director Flumm. The High Points:Jonathan Hickman along Sam Humphries are establishing the seeds of Divided We Fall event here. We see the welcoming return of Ultimate Carol Danvers. Receiving a call from Tony for an appointment with the President. ...

Ultimate Comics X-Men #12 Review 0

Ultimate Comics X-Men has been the odd kind of the Ultimate Comics lineup. How you rebuild a team that has been broken so badly since Ultimatum. Nick Spencer doesn't rebuild it but he gave us new enemies and new mysteries to compound the delicate situation mutantkind suffers in the Ultimate Marvel Universe. What Spencer did right was showing how hunting mutants has turned out of control for the government...literally.The High Points:Revelations is the name of this issue really as we see somethin...

Ultimate Comics The Ultimates #10 Review 0

This is the first issue of collaboration between outgoing writer Jonathan Hickman and incoming writer Sam Humphries. And things are looking up for this series. Everything is setting up for the upcoming event "Divided We Fall". This issue deals with the fallout of the attack and destruction of the head of the US Government and the change of boss at SHIELD. Things are just falling apart for the government. The High Points:At this point it is clear that Reed Richards cannot be beaten by conventional...

Ultimate Comics Ultimates #9 Review 3

As if things aren't bad enough in the Ultimate Universe, Jonathan Hickman can prove to ya that yes, they can and will get worse. In the continuation of "Two Cities, Two Worlds" we see that everything is falling apart and preparing us for the first event in the Ultimate Marvel Reborn " Divided We Fall".The High Points:Jonathan Hickman is at the top of his game narrating us how everything is falling apart. America is divided and Reed Richards is showing why he is the most smart and dangerous man i...

Ultimate Comics The Ultimates #8 review 0

Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribic have done a beautiful and awe shocking revelation in this issue of The Ultimates and things are about to take turn to the worse for the team. The High Points:This issue is by far the best issue yet. Everything plays out beautifully and as the story progress you feel a sense of dread as everything looks ready for the big showdown. Character development is at its best here and there's no better example than Reed Richards interacting with the Hulk. And the greatest we...

Ultimate Comics X-Men 9 Review 0

Just as the revelation of the fact that the mutants are created by man and not evolution during the first story arc, Camp Angel learns the truth and lets just say that things begin to turn bad for the already stretched thin US Government. The High Points:Seeing back Colossus and Storm is a high point. We see poor Colossus having a bad time at Camp Angel and Storm begging to release him. But as the truth is being revealed, censorship hits and now Storm has had enough. Nick Spencer is giving us an ...

Ultimate Comics Ultimates #7 Review 0

Nick Fury is at his last trick before things get out of control. And knowing that the Maker and the Children of Tomorrow are too powerful for the team, he goes and ask for help of Tian and the brothers Xorn and Zorn. They are not convinced and in the name of peace they make contact with the City. Of course this is not well and the Maker decides to send his forces to meet the People. Of course the People will not retreat and this means war...The High Points:The real parts of this issue that I lik...

Ultimate Comics Spider Man #7 Review 4

On this issue, we see Miles Morales practicing more to be a better Spider-Man than Peter Parker was and now he's beginning to feel the same problems Peter had while he was alive: a skeptical public (with Parker dead), the suit beginning to stink ( reminding himself to get mouthwash) and enemies who think that Parker is really alive and not dead. But now new problems are arising for young Miles and things will get difficult pretty soon. Mean while his uncle, The Prowler escapes from Mexico and fi...

Ultimate Comics X-Men #7 Review 0

Nick Spencer is taking us on a slowly but shocking developments in this issue of Ultimate Comics X-Men. We see Quicksilver running and seeing the devastating consequences of his actions that is leading to the complete eradication of all mutants in North America. Yes, Scarlet Witch is back, but we don't see how or why she is back. And she is not the only one. Seeing an even more shocking return than Xavier on the last issue is the return of the master of magnetism himself Magneto. The High Points:N...

Green Lantern #6 Review 0

Geoff Johns and Mike Choi gives us a brief look in the life of both Hal Jordan and Sinestro without each other. This issue serves as both an epilogue of the story arc "Sinestro" and a prelude for the incoming story arc " The Secret of the Indigo Tribe". It's refreshing to see how both Jordan and Sinestro behave without at each others throat all the time. And the result is an enjoyable in between stories. The High Points:The writing of Johns is superb to say the least. Seeing Sinestro being frustr...

The World Part II Review 1

The world of Ultimate Marvel keeps turning bad for Nick Fury and what's left of his team of the Ultimates. We see as Fury desperately tries to persuade Captain America to rejoin the team. But for the first time, things don't go to his plan and Fury is seeing himself with little choice in the matter. He cannot manipulate his way to victory and being that his biggest asset, he is now visibly afraid of the future. Jaime Braddock returns as Captain Britain and has a heartfelt reunion with someone he...

GL New Guardian #5 Review 0

Green Lantern New Guardian is becoming one of my favorite books out of the New 52. The team ( Kyle Rayner, Glomulus, Arkillo, Saint Walker, Fatality, Munk & Bleez) are a bad mix out of a comedy film, yet their interactions keep this series shinning. We see the team (minus Bleez) interacting with the massive ship/ solar system, and finding out secrets that compromise Larfreeze and the New Guardians into their foray and their encounter with Invictus. The High Points:Tony Bedard is making a shin...

Ultimate Comics X-Men #6 review 1

We see the end of the first story arc in which our team ( Shadowcat/Shroud, Jimmy Hudson, Iceman, Human Torch and Rogue) are engaging Stryker's now controlled Nimrod Sentinels. Being betrayed by a close member and Pietro's Intervention, turning a bad situation into a worse one; Kitty and the X-Men barely made it out of the whole quagmire, but not without realizing how bad the situation has become and the crazy ending ( did not saw that one coming) by Rogue and a unexpected return. The Good:This i...
