'I am incapable of caring whether anyone in this room lives or dies. I'm not trying to scare you, I'm not trying to be the big man. I'm just saying: don't touch me again.' - Desolation Jones

It still sends a chill down my spine. On the next page he puts an attacker's eye out using his finger.
He's a nasty piece of work, but this quote was the first thing I thought about when I read the title of the thread.

Is one answer enough to get the quest ? I enjoyed the Lucifer series so much that I found answers for all the questions related to it. I wouldn't want to spoil other people's fun, though. Please let me know, aztek the lost. Also, congrats on the thread !

I just found out from the news about Japanese TEPCO employees volunteering to go to one of the Fukushima reactors to help. One of them is a 59-year-old man with extensive experience in nuclear power stations, due to retire in 6 months. He may not have superpowers, but I dare you you to NOT consider him superhuman for sacrificing his life for the good of others.

I'm from a crap country that, sadly, isn't promoting this type of behavior and commitment. Most likely there are people no more than a few hundred feet from me that think the above deed to be pure and utter nonsense. It's because of this that I can't even fathom what drives a man to ask for death, basically, in the slim hope that others will, i don't know, have a better life ?

Three times the fun? Any time, no matter what her/their power is.
Sorry... I let my pants do the thinking again...

I find both attractive. The advantage of comics is that it's half-way toward the movie genre, but cheaper to produce than a film - you still get to read text, but it's a lot easier to understand what's happening with the help of the images. The advantage of a book, though, is that it can be a lot lengthier, so it can delve deeper into aspects like descriptions and character development.

It's easier to read comics, so I'll go with comics better than books.  (I'd rather avoid a lynching - we are debating in a comic forum, right?)

Winter, 'cause she's so damn hot... and because nobody picked her. Also she was pretty cool in the books where I encountered her. Her ability to never forget anything was quite useful in those storylines. Also I found her icy and calculated personality somewhat attractive.

I find it to be near impossible to have a comic book universe exist by real-life rules. I don't mean the existence superpowers, but the ability of the human personality to NOT be corrupted by the acquisition of a superpower. It is indeed a great responsibility, like the 'Spider-Man' series mentions so many times, but I believe that ' The Boys' portrays it much more realistically.

All too often people fall victims to their own inner demons, so the real world would never have a Superman or Batman if superpowers were to exist. They would instead get, respectively, a destructive authoritarian that would rule the world by strength alone and a leader of a world-wide corporation that would control the world by economic means.

The presence of power creates the need for more power and this results in a vicious circle that never ends.

Nobody chose Prince of Persia ?  Surely he has a lot to offer, with the innocence he loses in 'The Sands of Time', his darker side in 'Warrior Within' and his possession in 'The Two Thrones'.
note: I only took into account those three games, since the others either rewrote his origins or were complete cr@p... or both.
